‘Run to Sainsbury’s’, say shoppers after discovering selection of cardigans for autumn
SAINSBURY’S has fashion lovers excited with their latest collection of cardigans, perfect for the upcoming autumn.
While we’d love to hang on to summer a little longer, the autumn months are just around the corner. And if you’re looking to stock up on some comfy pieces, your local Sainsbury’s is the place to go.
That’s because the popular supermarket has launched a new autumn collection, with affordable knits starting from just £14.
The collection has already been a huge success among fashion lovers and Isla Pedley was also very enthusiastic about it. She showed her best finds on TikTok.
One of the beautiful fall must-haves was a chic TU knitted cardigan top in black and white, she shared in the clip.
For the affordable price of £16 this little number looks fantastic paired with a pair of wide leg trousers and sunglasses. Perfect for an expensive looking outfit on a budget.
“The quality is so good,” said Isla, who thought this was a “Mango imitation” from the high street.
Now that the temperatures are slowly but surely dropping and the evenings are getting colder, it’s also time to buy your fall coat of the season, if you haven’t already.
If you’re not a fan of bulky coats and puffer jackets, Sainsbury’s is the place to go. They sell smart boxy coats for £35. They also come in a range of neutral colours.
No autumn wardrobe is complete without a comfy cardigan to throw on when you’re feeling a little chilly, and the supermarket has come to the rescue with a selection of £18 cardigans that are both stylish and practical.
Whether you prefer earthy tones or something brighter like baby pink, there’s a color for every fashionista.
However, it is wise to go to the store as soon as possible, as some sizes are almost sold out.
“Honestly, why didn’t people tell me to run to Sainsbury’s before? Because there’s so much good stuff there.
“Seriously, girls, get to your nearest Sainsbury’s now, because I’m telling you: those vests will sell out so quickly.”
While browsing the store, the style enthusiast posts under the username @i sleptmanaged to find several pieces for her fall wardrobe.
In addition to a white vest with dark brown buttons, a beautiful khaki vest in size 8, and a similar vest in brown, also in size 8.
The adorable baby pink cardigan, also a size 8, retailed for £14.
Is supermarket fashion the new high street?
DEPUTY Fashion Editor Abby McHale says:
Supermarkets have really upped their game when it comes to their fashion lines. These days, when you pop in to do your weekly shop, you can also pick up a selection of wallet-friendly, stylish items for the whole family.
Tesco has just announced a 0.7 percent rise in the quarter thanks to ‘strong growth in clothing’ and M&S has earned the title of the number one destination for womenswear on the high street.
Asda’s George clothing line earned the supermarket £1.5m in 2023, 80 per cent of clothes at Sainsbury’s were sold at full price rather than discounted, and sales of Nutmeg at Morrisons have also risen by 2 per cent over the past year.
How is it that supermarket fashion is so successful?
The clothing is not only affordable but also of good quality, and much of the clothing is part of programs such as the Better Cotton Initiative.
They often stick to classic pieces that they know will last for years.
And because they buy so much stock, they can deliver quickly and the volumes are cheaper.
Fellow fashionistas responded en masse and one of them advised others to visit another popular store on the high street for autumn items.
”M&S has my favorite vests. M&S is a real recommendation. They are beautiful and so cheap.”
Another shouted: “Sainsbury’s never has a size 38 or 40, seriously!”
A third was influenced by ‘Running’.
