‘Samajwadis stopped paying tribute’: Akhilesh asks Nitish to withdraw from NDA; JDU questions SP chief’s JP values | India News – Times of India
He accused the state government of deliberately preventing him and his supporters from paying tribute to Jayaprakash Narayan by barricading the premises with tin plates and urged Bihar CM Nitish Kumar to withdraw his support to the BJP-led government, citing Kumar’s roots in the Jayaprakash Narayan movement. .
He said, “There are many people, including Samajwadi leaders, who are running the government. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar himself came to the fore through the JP movement. This is an opportunity for him to reconsider his support for such a government that discourages people from honoring the government. JP Narayan on his birth anniversary Nitish Kumar, who strengthened the movement by standing with JP Narayan, should withdraw his support to this oppressive regime.
(Bohot saare log, Samajwadi logg sarkaar mein hain jo sarkaar ko chala rhe hain. Bihar ke mukhyamantri ji bhi hai samay samay parr, jannanyak Jaiprakash ji is no more available, release the Andolan if he is nile hai. You may say you are samjawadiyo as Jaiprakash jayanti if you are one of the best people, but samarthan wapis le le. Kyunki Bihar and Nistish are different people, JP Narayan ji ke sath reh kar unhone unke andolan ko mazboot banaya hai.)
Sharply criticizing Akhilesh’s statement in which he referred to Nistish Kumar and questioned his commitment to Jayaprakash Narayan’s values, JD(U) spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan said: “This statement is astonishing; does Akhilesh Yadav want to pay his tribute only limit to Lok Nayak Jayaprakash Narayan, Or does he also recognize the values of his life? JP fought for the concept of total revolution and called for a change in the system, opposing dynasty politics and dominance of family rule, If Akhilesh Yadav had given even the slightest priority to those values, the Samajwadi Party would not be under the complete control of a single family.”
Ranjan further criticized Yadav’s approach and said, “As far as him being stopped from holding a tribute meeting, instead of going there in the middle of the night, he should have chosen today, on JP’s birth anniversary, as the right time to visit. I cannot appreciate such narrow politics when I commemorate great leaders. Such statements are contrary to the values that JP stood for.”
