Samsung Galaxy A56 allegedly spotted on IMEI website
Samsung launched the Galaxy A55 earlier this year with Exynos 1480 chipset and triple rear cameras. Now, the Galaxy A56 is said to be in the works as a successor. Samsung is yet to confirm its existence but ahead of that, an unannounced Galaxy A-series phone has reportedly been spotted on the IMEI database. It could be powered by Samsung’s new Exynos 1580 chipset. It is expected to come with a notable performance boost over its predecessor.
According to a report by Smartprix, the Samsung Galaxy A56 has appeared in the IMEI database with the model number SM-A566B/DS. Interestingly, the Galaxy A55 is linked to the model number SM-A556B/DS.
The Galaxy A55 was reported to have arrived with Samsung’s own Exynos 1480 chipset in March this year. Based on this, the publication has suggested that the Exynos 1580 chipset will debut with the upcoming Galaxy A56. This mid-range chipset that is codenamed ‘Santa’ could be as powerful as the Snapdragon 888 SoC. It could use a triple-cluster CPU architecture and would bring significant performance upgrades over the Exynos 1480.
The Exynos 1580 was recently spotted on the Geekbench platform with model number S5E8855. It has primary CPU cores that max out at 2.91 GHz, three that max out at 2.6 GHz, and four cores that run at 1.95 GHz. The chipset scored 1,046 in single-core testing and 3,678 in multi-core testing.
Like the Galaxy A55 5G, the Galaxy A56 is expected to make its official launch in the first quarter of next year, likely in March.
