As mentioned, the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 series features a new design. The standard Galaxy Buds 3 have an open type design, while the Pro are in-ear type. The Galaxy Buds 3 have a unidirectional 11mm dynamic driver, while the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro have a bidirectional 10.5mm dynamic speaker with a 6.1mm Planar. The Galaxy Buds 3 Pro model offers Ambient Sound mode and Voice Detect feature, which are said to be able to distinguish between white noise and human voices. The earbuds switch to Ambient mode when the wearer is speaking to reduce media volume, allowing you to listen to conversations without taking the earbuds out.

They have an Auto Switch feature that allows users to seamlessly switch between two devices on the go. They feature an accelerometer and Hall sensor. They are compatible with handsets running Android 10 or later with more than 1.5GB of storage. They are said to offer ultra-high-quality audio of up to 24bit/96kHz on select Samsung phones such as the Galaxy S24 series and the latest foldable phones running One UI 6.1. 1 or later. They are also IP55-rated.
The Galaxy Buds 3 family gets some AI-based features like Interpreter and Voice Command as part of the Galaxy AI Package. By enabling the Interpreter in listening mode, users can get foreign language lectures translated directly through the Galaxy Buds. The Voice Command can be used to control functions like playing or stopping music without having to manually touch the earbuds or a connected smartphone.
The Galaxy Buds 3 earbuds come with a 48mAh battery, while the charging case houses a 515mAh battery. The earbuds alone are said to last for up to five hours of music playback, and they are said to last for up to 30 hours of music playback on a single charge with the case. However, when using ANC, the battery life drops to 24 hours (with charging case).

The company claims that the earbuds can offer up to seven hours of playback with ANC turned off.
