Samsung Galaxy S23 deals: save with new lines and trade-ins
Earlier this year, Samsung dropped the latest Galaxy S24 series, which quickly rocketed to the top of our list of the best Android phones . But if you’re looking for many of the same great features at a lower price, don’t look past the previous-generation Samsung Galaxy S23 series, which brought the mighty Galaxy S23 Ultra and the more budget-friendly Galaxy S23 FE. They’re no longer on our best phones list, but that’s only because the new versions are a step up in performance and features and have taken their place. The S23 phones are still fantastic, though, and we’ve found some great deals if you’re looking to save some cash.
In February 2023, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, and S23 Ultra. They came with screen sizes of 6.1, 6.6, and 6.8 inches respectively, and showed off refined external designs and some modest upgrades to the camera hardware, battery sizes, and internal storage of the two larger models. The Galaxy S23 FE hits stores in October 2023 and is the most affordable model in the S23 lineup. It sports a mid-range 6.4-inch display and improved battery life, but comes with the previous-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. How much does the Galaxy S23 cost?
The four Galaxy S23 models come in a variety of storage configurations. Regular US pricing for each model starts at:
- Samsung Galaxy S23 FE: $600
- Samsung Galaxy S23: $800
- Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus: $1,000
- Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra: $1,200
Samsung has the base storage for the Galaxy S23 Plus and S23 UltraThe S23 FE comes with 128GB of RAM, doubling its capacity to 256GB from the 128GB found in the S22 models. The base-spec Galaxy S23 and S23 FE models remain at 128GB. The Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, S23, and Galaxy S23 Plus offer 8GB of RAM, while the Galaxy S23 Ultra has 12GB of RAM.
What colors is the Galaxy S23 available in?
As always, Samsung phones come in a range of attractive colours. This time around, there’s a selection of nature-inspired colours for the Galaxy S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra, including phantom black, cream, green and lavender. Samsung is also offering an exclusive lime green colour in your own online storeThe Galaxy S23 FE is only available in graphite, cream, mint and purple.
Best Galaxy S23 Deals
Samsung isn’t offering any discounts on the Galaxy S23 series, but there is trade-in potential on all available models. Get up to $500 off the Galaxy S23 FE with a qualifying trade-in. If you’re interested in the S23, you can get $540 off with a qualifying trade-in, and up to $750 off the S23 Ultra with a qualifying trade-in.
You’ll get the most credit with newer Apple and Samsung devices, but you’ll also get more credit for phones from Google, Motorola, and other brands.
Best Buy isn’t offering any rebates on unlocked S23-series phones. You can still save if you trade in a phone and get a plan with AT&T or Verizon, which could save you up to $1,000 on the S23, S23 Plus, or S23 Ultra.
Verizon is giving both new and existing customers the chance to save on Galaxy S23 phones. Those who add a new line can get the S23 or S23 FE for free, with the money you spend credited to your account for 36 months.
Currently, you can buy a Samsung Galaxy S23 FE for $6 per month with unlimited plans. This will save you $384.48 in credits over the life of your contract.
You can also get a discount with a qualifying trade-in. Not all phones are eligible for trade-in, but AT&T can provide you with a promotional card. You can use the value on this card toward your payment balance or to purchase additional accessories for your S23.
T-Mobile is offering a few ways for both new and existing customers to save on the Galaxy S23 phones. Those interested in the Galaxy S23 can add the new line to the Go5G Plus or Go5G Next plans and get the phone for free, paid for in bill credits over 24 months. For those opting for the Magenta or ONE plans, you can still get up to $600 in bill credits.
If you have a qualifying trade-in, or if you have or upgrade to a Go5G Plus or Next plan, you can get up to $800 in bill credit, which will also get you the phone for free. Other offers include $200 to $600 off, paid in bill credit, with a trade-in.
The S23 FE is up to $300 off when you add a new line or trade in an eligible device, so you can get the phone for about half price.
Xfinity is now offering up to $500 back on the Galaxy S23, S23 FE, and S23 Plus with eligible trade-ins or new lines. The newest iPhones will earn you the biggest discount, but Xfinity is also accepting models from Samsung and Google, as well as a host of smaller brands. Like most other carrier trade-in offers, the discount will be applied in the form of monthly bill credits. You can also opt to get your money back in the form of a check, though this may reduce your discount slightly.
There are even more ways to save. Existing Xfinity customers may also be eligible for a buy-one-get-one-free deal on the Galaxy S23 FE, perfect for families.
While MintMobile’s S23 line isn’t huge in deals, you can get the Galaxy S23 for $50 off if you sign up for a 12-month plan.
