Samsung Galaxy S25 could get the same main camera as the Galaxy S24

Samsung’s Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25 Ultra are likely to go official early next year. Rumored launch timelines are still months away, but a series of leaks in the past few days have provided some clarity on what to expect from next year’s Galaxy S flagships. An early leak now suggests the Galaxy S25 will have the exact same primary camera on its rear as the Galaxy S24, while the vanilla model and Plus variant could get a 12-megapixel front-facing snapper.

Samsung Galaxy S25 camera leak reveals no upgrade

According to a report by GalaxyClub (in Dutch), Samsung Galaxy S25 will feature a 50-megapixel primary camera. If this rumor turns out to be true, the upcoming handset will be the fourth-generation Galaxy S phone to feature a 50-megapixel primary camera. The existing Galaxy S24, Galaxy S23, and Galaxy S22 models feature the same primary camera sensor.

The Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25+ are said to feature a 12-megapixel front-facing camera. This means that the resolution of the front-facing camera also remains unchanged from its predecessors. The sensor size and other details are currently under wraps.

Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra is said to bring notable camera upgrades. The device could sport a quad-camera setup on the back, consisting of a 200-megapixel main camera and a 50-megapixel sensor with 5x optical zoom, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom. The ultra-wide sensor and 3x sensor are said to be a significant improvement over the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Apart from the rear camera and selfie shooter, the Galaxy S25 could feature the same 4,000mAh battery as its predecessor. The handset is said to carry the model number SM-S931. The vanilla model could come with a 6.36-inch display and is likely to be powered by the Exynos 2500 chipset in all markets.
