Finally, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has arrived. The Superslim flagship was first plagued in Galaxy in January, but it has now been officially unveiled in a Start video Posted SamsungS YouTube channel.
The Galaxy S25 Edge joins the Samsung Galaxy S25” Samsung Galaxy S25 PlusAnd Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra in the wider S25 family, and it seems to be part of the Best Android -Phones Only for aesthetic value.
We respond to the announcement of the phone in our Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Live BlogBut below we have completed five things that you need to know about the Galaxy S25 Edge, from the design specifications to the sustainability references.
Surprise! It’s super slim
Of course, given that both his name and the official dummy units that Samsung teased on Uppacked and Mobile World Congress, we knew that the lead would be slim – and now we know how thin and light the phone really is.
The Galaxy S25 edge measures only 5.8 mm on the thinnest point, making it far from the thinnest Galaxy’s phone. The standard Galaxy S25 measures 7.2 mm, while the S25 Ultra is a relatively thick 8.2 mm, so the edge really marks a step up in terms of design.
However, the weight of the phone is even more impressive. The S25 edge weighs only 163 g, which is almost identical to the standard Galaxy S25, but here you get a much larger 6.7-inch Amoled display. That is the same screen as you will find on the Galaxy S25 Plus, but the edge is 14% lighter and 21% thinner than that specific model.
The skimpy not on sustainability
The thinner you make a phone, the less sustainable it becomes, but Samsung has equipped the S25 edge with a whole series of impressive durability specifications.
Just like the S25 Ultra, the phone gets a titanium frame, but unlike the rest of the Galaxy S25 line, the Rand Cornilla Gorilla Gorilla uses Ceramic 2 (instead of Victus 2) on the rear panel. This is essentially Samsung’s answer AppleThe ceramic shield on the iPhone, with ceramic crystals embedded in the glass itself to improve the resistance to cracks and scratches.
Given its size and weight, this does not necessarily mean that the edge will be more durable than its brothers and sisters, but it is safe to expect similar drop resistance to the S25 line.
Regarding water resistance, the edge gets an IP68 rating and the phone is available in three colors with titanium theme: Titanium Iicyblue, Titanium Silver and Titanium Jetblack.
Camera compromise
When it comes to cameras, the edge gets a 200 MP wide lens, a 12MP Ultra-wide lens and a 12MP selfie camera.
The elephant in the room here is that there is no telephone camera to talk about, something that you will find on any other S25 model. But by resting the edge with the same main camera as the S25 Ultra, Samsung has ensured that the newest flagship will still be a versatile shooter, which offers a 2x optical quality of optical quality (via sensor vegetable) and strong performance with little light.
The edge also becomes 8k Video recording options, and the AI-driven order from Samsung is available to improve image quality, optimize the zoom and offer various functions for processing photo.
The same great strength
On performance, and the S25 edge has the same chipset and ram specifications as the rest of the Galaxy S25 line. That means a for Galaxy version of the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, 12 GB RAM and the full series of Galaxy AI tools.
You get audio gum, generative processing and now briefly out of the box, and as we are going to expect, Samsung connects a market-leading seven years OS and security updates for the Galaxy S25 Edge.
Battery life all day?
The big question about the Galaxy S25 lead was whether a super-lim design would be at the expense of the battery life, and it is hard to say at this stage or that is the case.
The Galaxy S25 Edge has a battery of 3,900 mAh, which is almost identical to the battery in the standard S25. During testing, that phone took us spacious for a whole day, but the battery in the edge must feed a much larger 6.7-inch display.
Nevertheless, Samsung still promises all day through the battery life of its new super-slim flagship, so we have to put that claim on the test in our full assessment of the device.
Regarding charging, the edge of 25W is wired, 15 W wireless and 7.5 W reverse charging options. These are identical charging specifications for the S25 and S25 Plus, so even if the battery of the telephone is a touch smaller than we would like, Samsung has not compromised when it comes to loading speed.
