Samsung Galaxy S25 series could get extra RAM, with up to 16GB in the S25 Ultra
Samsung’s flagship phones are always among the most powerful devices of the year, but they don’t always come with the most RAM. In the case of the base Samsung Galaxy S24, for example, you only get 8GB. However, the company may offer more RAM in the Samsung Galaxy S25 series.
This claim comes from two sources, the clearest and most detailed of these leaks coming from @theonecidThey claim that the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus will have 12GB of RAM, while the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will have 16GB.
That would be an additional 4GB of RAM for the S25 over the S24, and it would be a similar upgrade for the Ultra, as the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has 12GB of RAM. This wouldn’t be an upgrade for the Plus model, however, as the Galaxy S24 Plus also has 12GB.
While we should take this leak with a grain of salt – especially since the source doesn’t have an extensive track record – we also have @UniverseIce that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will have 16GB of RAM.
Or at least that seems to be what they say. They claim that something will have 16GB of RAM, and while they don’t name the phone, most of their posts on X are focused on Samsung devices, and this post was sandwiched between two posts about Samsung software. Who would have thought.
A probable leak
@UniverseIce also has a much stronger track record than @theonecid , so while nothing is set in stone yet, there’s a good chance the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will come with 16GB of RAM. However, with @UniverseIce not commenting on the other two models, we’re less certain about the amount of RAM in those phones.
It’s also worth noting that even if this leak is accurate, a 12GB version of the Galaxy S25 Ultra could still land, while the 16GB version may only be available in the highest storage capacity or in certain regions.
We likely won’t know for sure until early next year, when the Samsung Galaxy S25 series is supposedly revealed. We’re already hearing a few things about these phones, including that they could be powered by a beastly Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset and that there could be some unknown design changes.
There will undoubtedly be many more leaks and rumors to emerge, and we’ll be rounding up the most credible ones here on TechRadar.
