Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra may get design improvements with these upgrades
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to launch globally early next year alongside the rest of the flagship Galaxy S25 series. In recent weeks, Samsung officials have spoken about the smartphone, hinting at the addition of “top-of-the-line” upgrades and features powered by artificial intelligence (AI). Now, a tipster is claiming that the Galaxy S25 Ultra could feature a larger display, a benefit that comes as a result of the South Korean tech conglomerate slimming down the bezels of its handsets.

In a after On X (formerly Twitter), tipster Ice Universe claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will have a width of 77.6mm. For comparison, the company’s current flagship – the Galaxy S24 Ultra – is 79mm wide. This could make the alleged smartphone narrower than its predecessor.

Compared to the S24Ultra, the chassis width has been reduced to 77.6mm, which is the same as the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Thanks to the smaller bezel, the display measures 6.86 inches. photo.twitter.com/fjxy0iRar9— ICE UNIVERSE (@UniverseIce) August 21, 2024
Furthermore, it could feature a larger 6.86-inch display, thanks to thinner bezels. Notably, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has a 6.79-inch display. Even then, the bezels may not be that thin compared to its potential competitor, the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro Max that is said to feature 1.15mm thin bezels. This could be possible because Apple is implementing a new process called Border Reduction Structure (BRS).
This new development builds on previous reports which suggested that the South Korean tech giant’s upcoming flagship handset could see a change in terms of ergonomics. Mockups of the Galaxy S25 Ultra suggest the presence of rounded corners instead of flat edges.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra specifications (expected)
Reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra could feature 16GB of RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. The smartphone could be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 SoC under the hood, which is expected to debut later this year. It is reported to feature an upgraded quad camera setup on the rear, consisting of a 200-megapixel primary camera and a 50-megapixel sensor with 5x optical zoom. The ultra-wide and telephoto sensors are expected to get a boost to 50-megapixel.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra could feature a 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W charging.
