Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra may get major design changes

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, the company’s alleged next flagship smartphone, may feature major design changes. The revelation comes courtesy of a social media tipster who claims that the handset’s design could be asymmetrical but with narrower “visual bezels” compared to its predecessor. Notably, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is also said to retain its camera system, but the phone could get two new sensor upgrades with a higher megapixel count.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra design (expected)

According to a after On X (formerly Twitter) by tipster Ice Universe, Samsung’s alleged flagship smartphone – Galaxy S25 Ultra – could come asymmetrically designed at the front and back. As a result, the back of the smartphone could be more rounded, while the front is said to be flatter.

It is speculated that this change has been made with the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s “handling feel” in mind. Furthermore, the phone will feature a thinner mid-bezel, though the width could remain the same. According to the tipster, these design changes could result in a narrower “visual bezel” compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The smartphone could also feature a flat display, the tipster claims. This report confirms previous speculation that while the S25 Ultra may resemble its predecessor in terms of overall design, such as the camera module, it could ditch the angular design in favor of rounded corners.

Improved cameras

This development builds on an earlier report which suggested that the alleged handset could still feature a quad-camera setup, but with improved sensors. The existing wide-angle sensor could reportedly be replaced with a “new version of the 1/2.76-inch JN1 sensor”. While this new sensor is speculated to be smaller than its predecessor, it could see its megapixel count bumped up to 50-megapixels. The telephoto lens is also said to be upgraded to a larger 50-megapixel “1/3-inch Isocell sensor”.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s camera module is said to consist of a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel sensor with 5x optical zoom, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom.
