Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series could arrive with this flagship MediaTek chip
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series was previously rumored to launch on July 10 at the company’s recent Galaxy Unpacked event, alongside the foldable Galaxy Z series. Unfortunately, no mention was made of the next-generation tablets at Samsung’s launch event. However, a tipster has now suggested that the South Korean brand could launch the alleged Galaxy Tab S10 series in October. While we await an official confirmation, a new leak has revealed details about the tablets’ specifications. The Galaxy Tab S10 series is expected to consist of two devices — the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series could feature MediaTek Dimensity SoC
Tipster Ice Universe on X claimed that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chip, contradicting previous rumors that suggested Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipset would be present on the upcoming Galaxy tablets. MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ mobile processor is a high-end octa-core chip that features four cores clocked at 2.0GHz, three cores clocking up to 2.85GHz, and a prime core clocked at 3.4GHz. The platform supports up to LPDDR5T-9600 RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.
If the claims are true, it would be a notable change for Samsung, which has been powering its high-end tablets with Snapdragon chipsets in recent years. All three models in last year’s Galaxy Tab S9 family are powered by Qualcomm’s custom Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC for Galaxy.
Similarly, the Galaxy Tab S8 models that launched in 2022 came with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It’s worth taking these claims with a pinch of salt, as Samsung is yet to reveal any details about the alleged Galaxy Tab S10 series.
According to the latest rumors, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 series will be unveiled in October. This time around, Samsung is expected to skip the standard Galaxy Tab S10 model and focus on the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra models.
The Plus variant was previously spotted on Geekbench with model number SM-X828U. The listing suggested a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset, 12GB of RAM and Android 14 on the device.
