The chart above shows the key specs we’re currently expecting to see from the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, based on the rumors we’ve heard so far, combined with some educated guesses. So none of this is confirmed yet, but it’s our best guess as to what we’ll see when the phone launches – likely in July.
Starting with the foldable display, we’re expecting it to be a 6.7-inch display, as multiple sources have already said the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will have a 6.7-inch display. That’s the same size as the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5’s display, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing considering few phones have displays much larger than 6.7-inches.
The Galaxy Z Flip 6 will almost certainly use AMOLED, like its predecessor, and we’ve heard that the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s brightness could be the same as last year’s (sitting at 1,750 nits). That same source claims, unsurprisingly, that it’ll also have a 120Hz refresh rate.
We’ve also heard that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 could have the same resolution as the Z Flip 5, which is 1080 x 2640.
The cover display could see some improvements though, as multiple sources are claiming that the Galaxy Z Flip 6 will feature a 3.9-inch cover display (up from 3.4-inches on the Galaxy Z Flip 5). We’ve also heard that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6’s cover display could have a 120Hz refresh rate (up from 60Hz).
Still, there’s some disagreement, as multiple sources point to the Z Flip 6’s display size, just like last year’s, at 3.4 inches, with one adding that the resolution will also be the same, at 720 x 748.
The chipset is another aspect we expect to see an upgrade, with both leaks and logic pointing to a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6. That would mark a generational jump over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in the current model, and would also mean it would match the Samsung Galaxy S24 line in terms of power.
That said, some versions of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 could get an Exynos chipset (likely an Exynos 2400). If so, it’s likely the version you get will depend on where in the world you are, as that’s the approach Samsung took with the Galaxy S24. Either way, that’s a high-end chipset.
However, most leaks indicate that there will only be a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 version of the Z Flip 6, so it’s unlikely Exynos will be used.
For RAM, the options are said to be 8GB and 12GB, while storage is rumored to come in a choice of 256GB and 512GB. For reference, the Z Flip 5 has the same storage configurations, but only an 8GB RAM model. A Galaxy Z Flip 6 benchmark has now listed a 12GB configuration, so this increase seems likely.
Speaking of cameras, multiple leaks have suggested the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 will have a 50MP main camera, up from the 12MP on the Galaxy Z Flip 5. However, one source disagrees, saying it’ll be 12MP again. While we’re guessing 50MP is accurate, we can’t know for sure.
One leak also detailed the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s other cameras, suggesting there’ll be a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a 10MP front-facing camera, just like on the current model.
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 will reportedly have a 4,000mAh battery. We’ve heard that claim from multiple sources, so it’s likely accurate; especially since others have been more vague about longer battery life (which a 4,000mAh battery would likely deliver, considering the Galaxy Z Flip 5 has a 3,700mAh one). And we’ve also heard it will support 25W charging, just like last year.
Those are all the important specs, but again, these are mostly leaks and some educated guesses, so there’s a chance something could be off.
