Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra launch, pre-order dates leaked
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra has been in the rumor mill since February, well before the Galaxy Z Fold 6 was launched in July 2024. After not being announced at Samsung’s foldable event in July, a report claimed that Samsung had stopped work on the upgraded foldable version and its launch could be delayed again. Samsung’s first foldable Ultra brand would be a slimmer and larger version of the currently available Galaxy Z Fold 6. Later in July, another leak suggested the phone would launch in October 2024. Now, details about the Galaxy Z Fold Ultra have reportedly surfaced online via a retailer.
A Korean retailer has reportedly shared a poster suggesting the launch date and pre-order details of a foldable product called the Galaxy Fold 6 Special Edition. Although the website no longer shows the listing, a user on shared the poster, which also features the same model number as the rumored Ultra.
The poster reportedly stated that the Special Edition Galaxy Z Fold 6 will launch on October 25, with pre-orders available between October 18 and October 24 in Samsung’s home market of South Korea. Oddly enough, the poster also points to a link, but this link goes to a Galaxy Z Fold 6 (Crafted Black variant) on Samsung’s official website. The Crafted Black version of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 has been available as a special color in India since its launch. It has a pattern similar to a carbon fiber weave on the back panel and can only be purchased on Samsung’s website and is not available at local stores.
The user who posted the image online also provided two links (one of which has been removed). The second link refers to the T Store event which strangely has the model number “f958” in the URL.
The model number SM-F958 was also seen in previous Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra leaks. There were several reports referencing this number, with one indicating that the number ‘8’ denotes an Ultra device in Samsung’s smartphone range. Meanwhile, the number ‘6’ represents standard non-Ultra models. The same report also indicated that only an SM-F958N model was being worked on, hinting at a Korea-only release. The upgraded device is said to have a larger 8-inch main display and a thickness of 10.6mm when folded.
Since it is not possible to verify the authenticity of this poster, even though it is claimed to have appeared on the Korean retailer’s website, we have to take news of this launch with a spoonful of salt until Samsung releases official information about a launch . event.
