Samsung Want to make your Galaxy ring more accurate than ever, allegedly an upgrade for South Korean users who add two new functions to the smart ring.
The first is a new consistency-based metric that makes your energy score more accurate, while the second is a new sleep function that integrates with Samsung’s Smart Home devices.
Samsung would roll out firmware version Q50XWWU2AYD1 for the Galaxy Ring – which at the top of our list of the Best smart rings Available at the moment – but we have not yet seen an official confirmation from Samsung.
Instead, our information comes from two insider fans sites – Sammobile And Sammy fans -With ties with the company based in South Korea. It is said that the upgrade is currently rolling out for Samsung users in South Korea, so we imagine that it will not be long before we see it in other regions.
Without any official word, we cannot give you the complete overview of exactly how the new functions work, but an update of the way Samsung activity calls – Sammy fans would be ‘activity consistency’ – would be on the way.
Moreover, Samsung’s sleep guidance is apparently also updated. Both sites agree that the Ring will interact with the Samsung network of Smart Home devices called SmartThings, using Samsung’s ecosystem from devices to adjust your sleeping environment and to ensure that you get a better bed rest. Exactly how this interaction will work is unknown.
A big unveiling
Although this update seems relatively small, it feels like Samsung is on its way to make something related to a Smart-Home Cyborg, by integrating your health with AI-driven devices such as thermostats and smart lights.
Samsung told us that these kinds of upgrades were in the pipeline on CES 2025With Jaeyeon Jung, head of the SmartThings team, said: “We wanted our devices to make the lives of the consumer easier and better, that has always been our vision. After our acquisition of SmartThings in 2014, step -by -step, we make this a reality.
“Samsung has a wide range of portfolio products and we want to offer great lifestyle experiences [across these devices]. “
We expect that this SmartThings integration will be quite small in the beginning, but the possibilities are endless. Imagine a room that automatically becomes cooler or warmer based on your sleeping body temperature, or a smart speaker that plays an audio book or soft music that automatically switches off as soon as you enter deep sleep.
