Say goodbye to screen scratches? Advanced nano-coating technology could come to more than a million devices
- Optitune signs a new supply agreement with an unnamed technology giant for nanocoating
- New nano coating can protect laptops and tablets for longer
- Ultra-thin layer protects against scratches, smudges and fingerprints
Optitune, a Finnish company specializing in advanced nano-coating technologies, has announced a major supply agreement with a leading manufacturer of laptops and tablets.
This collaboration with an undisclosed partner will introduce Optitune’s Invisible Fingerprint nanocoating to more than one million devices, improving the user experience by addressing common issues such as fingerprints, scratches and dirt.
Optitune’s nanocoating technology is based on patented polysiloxane formulations that create ultra-thin, invisible layers on a variety of surfaces including metal, glass and plastic.
Nanotechnology reduces stains and scratches
The company says it’s new Nanotechnology is designed to be fingerprint resistant and helps reduce smudges and smudges on the surface of devices. The coating also provides resistance to scratches and other blemishes, allowing these products to retain their factory appearance for longer.
The coating is not only easier to clean, but also provides abrasion resistance and maintains stability even in extreme temperatures or aggressive chemical environments.
What is especially noteworthy is that this innovation will not only be applied to future devices, as evidenced by statements from Optitune’s CEO. The trillion-dollar technology company involved, which is not being named, has decided to allow the application of this technology to its existing range. also of products. This means that consumers who own current models of laptops and tablets will soon be able to benefit from the same technological advancements as future models.
“This supply agreement is a huge step forward for Optitune”, said Mr. Paulus, CEO at Optitune Oy. “It’s not every day that a company with a market capitalization in the trillions puts so much trust in a small scale-up company. It also shows that our coatings address real market issues such as sustainability, cost and performance.”
“I am particularly proud of the fact that this coating is the most environmentally friendly coating on the market. Not only was Optitune the first to commercialize a fluorine-free polymer for this application, but also due to the combination of a thickness of only nanometers and eliminating any use of primer dramatically reduces the amount of chemicals required and thus the coating’s environmental footprint,” Paulus added.
