SC collegium elects judge of Madras High Court as Chief Justice of Manipur High Court
CHENNAI: The Supreme Court Collegium on Monday recommended the height of Justice D Krishnakumara senior judge in the Madras High Court, such as the Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court.
Justice Krishnakumar was appointed as a Judge of the Madras High Court on April 7, 2016 and will now retire on May 21, 2025.
He is the senior-most puisne judge in his parents’ high court and belongs to a backward community.
Before his appointment as a Supreme Court judge, he had an extensive practice in civil, constitutional and service matters, specializing in constitutional law.
Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court, Judge Siddharth Mridulwill retire on November 21st. The collegium said it has proposed to appoint Justice Krishnakumar as Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court with effect from the date on which Justice Mridul demits office.
