Scottish Primark Shrek Cafe Serves Swamp Juice and Green Slime Nachos
FANS of Dreamworks will be delighted with the theme of Primark’s newest café in Scotland.
The fashion store in GlasgowBraehead Shopping Centre gets a café makeover every few months.
The final theme was Spongebob Squarepants and was a hit with shoppers.
But the new café is likely to be an even bigger success – with a Shrek theme.
Everything has been transformed into a tribute to the beloved Scottish green ogre, voiced in the films by Mike Myers.
The Far Far Away Cafe is decorated with some of the most recognizable characters from the film, including Princess Fiona, the three blind mice and cat in Boots.
Meanwhile, there are signs with well-known sayings from the films, such as ‘that’s good Donkey’ and ‘get out of my swamp’.
The eatery is open seven days a week from 10am and serves Shrek-themed dishes, from a cheese and red onion marmalade grilled cheese sandwich, which features layers of onions, to ‘swampchos’, nachos covered in green cheese slime, guacamole and sour cream.
For dessert, there’s the Far, Far Away special, featuring waffles topped with strawberry ice cream, waffle towers, magic dust and cotton candy clouds, and a selection of decadent shakes including ‘Not the Gumdrop Buttons’, a ginger and butterscotch milkshake, whipped cream, gumdrop sweets, gingerbread Gentlemen and toffee sauce.
And to drink there are drinks, bubble tea and swamp juice. This includes poisoned apple juice with cherry boba.
The café also stocks Primark’s Shrek clothing collection.
The collection includes cute, bright green slippers, socks, bags and mugs.
Fans are already loving the cafe, with almost 7,000 people watching a video uploaded to Primark Brahead’s TikTok.
One said, “This looks so cute.”
And another posted: “Okay, I’m going to watch Shrek again.”
The latest Spongebob theme was a hit with the shopping centre’s customers.
Although some were disappointed that the cafe did not sell Krabby Patties.
Why is Primark the place to go for bargains?
HOW does Primark do it? Keep delivering on-trend items at such unbelievable prices? According to bosses, it comes down to four things.
- They “sell a lot of items” – Thanks to them they can save by buying in bulk for their 191 UK stores
- They “do very little advertising”
- Although their clothes represent the “latest trends”, “they do not use expensive hangers, tags or labels”.
- And finally, they try to be “as efficient as possible when transporting products from factories to stores.” This includes things like “asking suppliers to package our t-shirts so they can go straight on the shelves.”
