‘Selfish’ parents criticised for giving all 8 children ‘terrible’ names with apostrophes

PARENTS of eight children are feeling the pressure after their children’s unique names send a community into disarray.

They were criticized for their “terrible” names, which contained unnecessary apostrophes and sometimes even included symbols.

Reddit user DisastrousAnomaly shared the names of the children in a family of eight that were a little too unique.

“Posted in a Facebook group I’m a member of. Sending thoughts and prayers to these kids as they will need it,” they wrote in a after.

They posted a photo of the back of a truck, with eight names on a car sticker to the left of the rear window.

While many of the names sounded normal, it was the spelling that raised concerns.

NAME NONSENSE

The names were placed in the popular group Tragedeigh, which is ‘a first name that has been deliberately misspelled or completely made up to appear more unique than it actually is’.

The first was “Ay’denn” with an apostrophe in the middle.

The second and third were “Ella’noä” and “Lilly’maë”, which contained both an apostrophe and a diaeresis.

In this case, a diaeresis is a mark placed above a vowel to indicate that the vowel is pronounced in a separate syllable, thus Miriam Webster.

The names “Elyah’nor”, “Noèz’lou”, “Log’hann” and “Billy’jane” also have an apostrophe.

There were two slightly different additions at the end of “Log’hann” and “Brenn’ley” with two stars next to them.

Other Redditors were confused by the extra details in the children’s names.

“What’s with the umlauts? And why the apostrophes?? And what do the stars mean?” asked one.

“Do they really have stars in their name?”

Miriam-Websiter described an umlaut as “a German thing that changes the pronunciation of a vowel.”

Below all the nicknames is the phrase “#momlife”.

HONEST OPINIONS

Several Redditors were candid about their feelings.

“Why would you involve your children in your crippling apostrophe addiction?” someone asked.

“You’re in luck. You had an encounter with the Tragedy Final Boss and made it out alive,” wrote one Redditor.

They couldn’t help but express their sympathy for ‘those poor children’.

“People are so incredibly selfish and stupid,” they added.
