Sonia Marinelli has revealed that her mother dies after years of fight against dementia.

The former 7News Melbourne WEATHER SPILER, 41, Friday announced the heartbreaking news to Instagram.

In addition to a long caption, she shared a photo of herself and two of her children who held hand with her mother while she was in the hospital.

‘My mother dies and will quickly take her last breath. It has been a long farewell, “she wrote next to the photo.

‘The grieving process and the loss started many years ago when it became clear that dementia robbed us of the mother we knew and loved.

Sonia continued: ‘Her brain became so vulnerable that this was inevitable. Yet this is a pain that is so unbearable, like nothing I have experienced.

“Her body is strong and she keeps fighting. Faithful to her mind to the end. She was always so determined and wore herself dignity. I loved my mother.

‘Please keep my father, sister, brother and her grandchildren in your mind while mother makes this transition to the hereafter.

“I will nestle next to her warm body, where I always felt deeply loved and safe until the end.”

Sonia’s famous friends and former CO stars flowed to the comments to offer their support and condolences during the difficult time.

AFF WAG BEC Judd wrote: “I’m sorry me, darling”, next to a series of Red Love Hearts.

Former 7News Melbourne Co-star Estelle Gnepink and Melina Sarris also left messages under the post.

“Oh beautiful son … keep your heart in my heart today,” Estelle wrote.

The tragic news comes after Sonia had announced her departure from the seven Melbourne -Newroom in the midst of the recent staff house bage of the network.

The weekend weather presenter announced in February that she would leave her role after three years in the position.

‘I step away from my role at 7News. My husband and I have decided to change a sea, “she said in a statement.

‘We will take our four young children on an adventure on the east coast. This decision has been in the making for years.

“After having spent the majority of my TV news career talking about us again, I am excited to get out and really enjoy it with those I love the most.”

Sonia and her husband Chris Stanko share four children – Roman, 10, AVA, Acht, Easton, Seven and Vivienne, six.
