NEW DELHI: Vikas Dubeya 24 year old resident of FatehpurUttar Pradesh, has reportedly been bitten by a snake seven times within a period of 40 days. The repeated snake bites left Dubey in a financial situationwhich prompted him to seek help from local authorities.
Once is a mistake, twice is a pattern and three times is a habit. Vikas Dubey, a 24-year-old from Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh, has experienced the unimaginable: seven snake bites in just 40 days. These repeated snake bites have left Dubey in a financial bind, prompting him to seek help from local authorities.
“The victim came to the Collectorate and cried that he had spent a lot of money to cure the snakebite and now he was seeking financial help from the authorities. I advised him to go to a government-run hospital where he could get free anti-snake venom,” said Rajiv Nayan Giri, the chief medical officer.
Giri expressed skepticism over the unusual pattern of snake bites that occur every Saturday. “We still need to find out if it is actually a snake that is biting him. We also need to look at the competence of the doctor treating him. A person who is bitten by a snake every Saturday and that person is admitted to the same hospital every time and recovers in just one day seems strange,” Giri said.
To unravel the mystery surrounding Dubey’s case, a team of three doctors has been formed. Giri assured that the team would investigate the case thoroughly and reveal the truth to the public. According to officials, Dubey was admitted to the hospital after each snake attack and recovered after treatment.
