Sheff Utd has the biggest play -off curse in England – but club icon supports them

Sheffield United Legend Chris Basham believes that Chris Wilder will break the play-off curse of the club and lead them back to the Premier League.

“So everyone has to do with that, but there is no negativity in this group.
“I would rather sit on the beach after I have achieved something, but I tasted it in 2010 and people always talk about the best way to go upstairs
“But we have two incredibly tough games before we can even think about it.
“I have too much respect for the game and the opposition to think that this will be simple because it is not.
“We have to handle two difficult matches against a talented group of players that we have seen here at Bramall Lane, and played two tight games by this season. And I expect that this will not be otherwise in the next four or five days.
“We go there to try to win and if they need a victory on the road, they will try to do that too. There will be no negative approach.
“We believe that we can compete with every team in the division, and our road record has been excellent.”

Basham had a fantastic knife career and made 394 performances before his career ended when he disrupted a single in Fulham in 2023.
In that decade he won promotion to the championship and twice to the Premier League.
Basham’s witness was in Bramall Lane on Sunday between a Blades Legends Team and Sky Sports Select Side.
The proceeds went to Weston Park as part of the charity attempts to secure a MRI -Simulator cancer scan machine breakthrough.
The former defender admitted: “It was a terrible injury and so shame to end my career.”
