Shocking figures reveal over 200,000 UK children are now supported by Baby Banks
THE SUN’s campaign to help the UK’s struggling baby banks has helped establish the UK’s first ever national network of banks, the Baby Bank Alliance.
Baby banks are community organizations that support families in need with everything from cribs, diapers and wipes to clothing and books.
Shocking new figures published today by the Baby Bank Alliance show that almost 200,000 British children were supported by baby banks last year.
The research also found that referrals to baby banks increased by 54 percent between 2021 and 2023.
Sophie Livingstone, Chair of the Baby Bank Alliance, said: “All children should have a safe place to be. sleepwarm clothing and shoes that fit.
“Without the baby banks in the UK providing this incredible safety net, thousands of children would not be able to benefit from this.”

The Baby Bank Alliance brings together the UK’s 200 baby banks so they can support each other and work together.
