Shooting at a block of flats in Wentworthville, Western Sydney
Two men who allegedly stole a NSW Labor MP’s car have been shot by police at an apartment building in Sydney’s west.
Thieves stole the car of Penrith MP Karen McKeown’s husband. The vehicle was reported stolen and police found it on a Lane St residential block in Wentworthville this afternoon
When the officers entered the underground parking garage, two men drove up to them in the stolen vehicle.
“Police discharged their firearms, injuring two men in the stolen car,” NSW Police said in a statement.
“Officers immediately administered first aid until the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics.”
The two men were taken to Westmead Hospital where one is said to be in a critical condition and the other in a serious but stable condition.
The police officers were not physically injured.
A critical incident team from the State Crime Command’s homicide unit is currently investigating.

The research has also been subject to an independent assessment.
Several police cars, six ambulances and a helicopter were called to the scene on Friday afternoon.
The street remains filled with emergency services.
