Packing tips for the holidays

Jemma Solomon, aka The Label Lady, has 5 packing tips to help you organize your next vacation.

1. Write a list

Think about all the supplies you’ll need to bring; sunscreen, medicine, a few games for the kids, beach towels and write everything down on one list that you can check off as you add it to your suitcase.

Or for complete convenience, try Google’s AI app – Gemini – which will make a list for you and help you not overpack.

2. Get your kids involved

Jemma said: “My girls are getting older, they are eleven and nine, and they enjoy helping with the packing. So I send them a list and say, “Here’s what you need,” and they follow the list.

“And then I give them each a backpack and tell them, ‘You can have whatever you want in it, as long as it’s not liquid,’ and they can take that with them on the plane. And those are their ‘home away from home’ items.”

3. Try a few hacks

She said: ‘I think they all work, but for different reasons – and you just have to choose the right one for your journey.

“Rolling up your clothes is a good way to keep your clothes from wrinkling. And if you have a lot of stuff to put in your bag, it saves space.

“Packing cubes are great. For example, I’m going on vacation with my three children and we all use the same suitcase for our clothes.

“These handy compartments allow you to organize your clothes, toiletries and technology into dedicated pockets, maximizing luggage space by keeping your belongings compressed and neatly stacked.

“I love taking them abroad with the family and it means my children can easily arrange their own things once we arrive.”

4. Decanting beauty products

Do you really need to bring large bottles of shampoo and conditioner? The beauty industry has evolved so much that you can now buy shampoo bars or sheets, which are much lighter and smaller.

Or, if you’re heading to the shops abroad, consider purchasing some items upon arrival.

5. Organize everything before you get home

Jemma said: “When you pack again on holiday [before coming home]The trick is to separate clean and dirty clothes.

“Also, pack it in a specific order, so light, dark, colors for items that need to be washed, or if you wash your clothes per person in the household, piles for each person.

“Then you can immediately put it in the washing machine. Do it immediately, don’t leave it.”

It offers a significant packing capacity of 30 liters and is perfect for easy travel.

Not only is it compact and light, but it also fits into the cabin space, making it the perfect carry-on bag.
