Shoppers are rushing to get their hands on Boots’ brand new Sol de Janeiro knockoff which costs just £4
THERE’S a new Sol de Janeiro body mist dupe in town.
We’ve had imitators from Primark, Poundland and Home Bargains, and now it’s Boots joining the fray.
The retail giant has launched its brand new Hair & Body Mist for just £4.
The product is brand new on the shelves and not even available on the Boots website yet.
The scent of pistachio, almond and salted caramel is an imitation of Sol de Janeiro’s flagship, Cheirosa 62 Perfume Mist.
Affectionately known as Number 62, the brand is “inspired by the year 1962, when we fell in love with the girl from Ipanema and Brazil’s iconic beach culture,” according to Sol de Janeiro bosses.
“Like the sun-drenched wonder of Rio, you can’t get enough of it,” reads a blurb.
“It’s the scent that started it all.
“Irresistible and sunny, this warm gourmand fragrance is the ultimate expression of the Brazilian spirit of Sol de Janeiro.”
Last year the fragrance took the UK by storm, with a 90ml bottle costing £24.
Since then, several brands have tried to copy the scent for budget-conscious buyers.
Yesterday, a shopper went viral via TikTok to alert other shoppers to the bargain imitation of Boots, which is now new on the shelves.
“How come no one knows about this?” she wrote.
“Boots has a Sol de Janeiro knockoff for £4.”
With the imitation fragrance you get more than double the amount of product with 200 ml.
“It’s new!” one customer beamed on TikTok.
