This comes after a fan of the mega store, Amanda Haddon, took to Facebook to show off the ‘super cute’ festive decorations she spotted at Home Bargains.

”House bargains – again. I think these are super cute,” Amanda said of the retailer’s squirrel-inspired decor, all of which retails for less than a tenner.

Full of ideas about how she could decorate her home, Amanda said: “I’m going to create a snowy display on my banister with them.”

According to the interior design enthusiast, fellow customers can grab the squirrel on the stick for €7.99, while the stand-alone squirrel decoration costs just €3.99.

But while the shopper seemed happy with her finds, the brand new additions to the aisles seemed to have left other Facebook users completely divided.

The messageshared on the popular Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK grouphas since racked up over 260 likes and hundreds of comments.

“I’ll be honest, I thought it was stored taxidermy at first,” wrote one member of the page who thought the squirrels looked dead.

“It’s an unusual flavor, but if you can make it work, go for it,” the person continued.

“At first glance I thought they were rats,” exclaimed another, comparing the setting to the common rodent.

“I thought you had to look double, make sure it wasn’t rats,” someone else chimed in.

”It looks like they were murdered and hanged,” a fourth was also not so sure about the bizarre ornament.

However, among other Home Bargains fans, there were also plenty of people keen to snap up the £3.99 and £7.99 finds.

“I’m going to get a squirrel, but I hope my cat doesn’t get to it,” one person joked.
