Shoppers’ flea market purchases included 50p buys and the Elf products ‘couldn’t be missed’
With the cost of living still hitting our wallets, spending money on non-essentials isn’t the top priority for many Brits.

Because of this, flea markets have experienced growth have become more popular because the cost of living is so low that more people visit them and look for bargains to be found.
With Christmas just a few months away, many Brits are trying to be as frugal with their money as possible, including Rachel Ellis, aka @rachellisxxx on TikTok.
She posted a video on her social media page showing her on her way to a flea market, which has since gone viral and has been viewed over a million times.
She managed to score super cheap beauty, home and fashion items for just 50p.
Rachel discovered a stall selling brand new make-up products including creams, powders, lip products and foundations from No7, Morphe and Elf.
She says: “This make-up shop was amazing. All brand new products for £5.”
The savvy shopper also came across carpet cleaners selling for £20 and boxes of Amazon products selling for 50p. Rachel bought a black claw clamp.
She says: “If you looked hard enough, there were a few bargains in there.
“I bought this claw clip. I thought the bow on it was really cute.”
Rachel also came across other accessories including handbags, sunglasses and nursery accessories and beauty products.
She says, “I found a bunch of shoes and handbags in this trunk.”
Other items include a bright pink bag from River Island, DKNY slippers, but also UGG imitations, electric toothbrushes, Lego and a phone case from Cath Kidston.
Rachel says: “I noticed at this flea market that there are a lot of stalls selling brand new products.”
‘Oh my god, brilliant’
She visited the Rhyl Car Boot, which is located in North Wales and is held every Saturday and Sunday. Entry costs £1 if you come after 9am.
For those wanting earlier access, between 8am and 9am, admission costs £5.
Rachel’s video received over 128,000 likes and 502 people left comments to share their thoughts.
One of them shared her thoughts about buying beauty products at a flea market by writing: “I never trust makeup because why and how do they have so much and why do they sell it so cheap?”
But a flea market seller replied, “I buy it from the warehouse.”
A regular visitor added: “I go there every Sunday.”
Another said: “Oh my god, brilliant.”
Someone else wrote: “Oh my god I would be broke after that makeup.”
