Shots fired at Kamala Harris’ Arizona campaign office

On Tuesday, law enforcement officials reported shots were fired at Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign headquarters in Tempe, Arizona.

Workers at the campaign office coordinated by the Democratic Party called Tempe police on Monday to report finding bullet holes in the front windows of the office.

Police said it was the second shooting in as many weeks, after the front windows were shot with a BB gun or air rifle just after midnight on September 16.

“There was no one inside the office during the overnight hours, but this raises concerns about the safety of those who work in that building, and also those who are in the vicinity,” said Sergeant Ryan Cook, public information officer for the Public Information Division.

Officers are currently investigating all possible motives for the shooting and are analyzing evidence collected so far, Tempe police said.

“We are grateful to the Tempe Police Department for responding so quickly and we are glad no one was present or injured,” said Sean McEnerney, the Arizona Democratic Party’s campaign coordinator.

Democratic Congressman Greg Stanton also expressed his “gratitude to all the campaign staff, volunteers and campaign workers who work out of this important campaign office.

“It’s nerve-wracking, but with only 42 days left until the end of this election, it won’t stop the important work from getting done,” he said. posted to X.
