Can Poco F4 5G Be the Best New Phone Under Rs. 35,000?

Poco F4 5G made its debut in India on Thursday as the brand’s latest model. The smartphone comes with features like a 120Hz AMOLED display and triple cameras on the back. The Poco F4 5G also packs the Snapdragon 870 SoC, a flagship-grade chipset designed for mid-range phones. The smartphone supports Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. It rivals the iQoo Neo 6 that debuted in May, with a similar specs list and a price tag under Rs. 35,000.

Orbital host Akhil Arora of the Gadgets 360 podcast sits down with reviews editor Roydon Cerejo and senior reviewer Aditya Shenoy to talk at length about the Poco F4 5G and find out if it’s the best pick in its segment.

The Poco F4 5G belongs to the Poco F series which is popular for offering the best possible performance for the price. But apart from the performance, the new Poco phone has a premium look and feel to attract customers.

In terms of performance, the Poco F4 5G comes with the Snapdragon 870 SoC that is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone also features a 6.67-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It also has a triple camera setup on the back, with a primary sensor of 64-megapixel.

The Poco F4 5G packs a 4,500mAh battery with 67W wired charging. There’s also a bundled charger that supports the aforementioned 67W fast charging. Furthermore, the phone runs Android 12 with MIUI 13 on top. However, Poco has not yet confirmed when exactly it would be rolling out the Android 13 update.

As for the design, the Poco F4 5G has an IP53 rating which is water-resistant. The phone also comes in two different colors.

The iQoo Neo 6 falls into the same price range and has largely the same specs, although that particular model features 80W fast charging.

Besides the iQoo Neo 6, the Poco F4 5G is a good replacement for the Mi 11X that was launched last year. The Motorola Edge 30 also falls in the same price segment.

We talk about the competition and whether customers should consider alternatives above the Poco F4 5G. You can hear all this and more by hitting the play button on the Spotify player embedded above.
