Shraddananda to SC: Am I worse than Rajiv killers? – Times of India
Sentenced to spend his entire life in prison for the murder of his wife, who was the granddaughter of ex-Diwan of Mysore, Swamy Schraddananda on Wednesday asked the Supreme Court to review his sentence, asking: “Am I a greater offender than the assassins of Rajiv Gandhi and 15 others, who were released after 27 years in prison?”
Shraddananda, also known as Murli Manohar, was sentenced to life imprisonment by the Supreme Court in July 2008, after the death sentence imposed on him by the trial court and the High Court for the 1991 murder of Shakereh was commuted to death. He had buried her body in the backyard of their house.
