Simon Baker faces drink-driving charges – and will appear in court next month
Simon Baker, the star of the hit television series The Mentalist, has been charged with two drink-driving offences.
The 55-year-old will appear in court in Mullumbimby, in northern New South Wales, on September 4.
The charges include attempted driving under the influence of alcohol and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
He was granted unconditional bail.
Baker was nominated for a TV Week Logie Award on Sunday for his leading role in the Netflix series Boy Swallows Universe.
In 2021, he split from his wife Rebecca Rigg after 29 years of marriage.
They have three children and own a home together in Nashua, near Byron Bay.

After his marriage broke up, he had a brief relationship with Laura May Gibbs, a sportswear designer from Byron Bay.
In March last year, he was photographed being picked up at the airport by a mysterious blonde woman, who was said to be his new girlfriend.
A month later, the couple were spotted on the beach, romping with Simon’s sons.
