Single photo that proves the popular Australian breakfast radio star NEVER saw his sudden ax coming – he gets a VERY rude shock
It seems that popular radio star Mark ‘MG’ Geyer was completely unaware that his days at Triple M were numbered – at least according to this party photo.
The co-host of the Sydney breakfast show received the honor in sensational fashion on Wednesday.
But just two days before he was told the bad news, Geyer, 56, was partying with his co-stars at a pub in Sydney.
The Triple M Breakfast Instagram account shared a photo of Geyer enjoying drinks with co-stars Mick Molloy, Natarsha Belling and Cat Lynch at the Burdekin Hotel in the Sydney suburb of Darlinghurst on Tuesday.
The foursome appeared in good spirits and smiled for the camera as they held festive cocktails.
Geyer in particular looked like he was ready for a good time, beaming as he posed with his after-work cocktail while wearing sunglasses indoors.

According to the Daily Telegraph, the co-host of Triple M Sydney’s breakfast show was sensationally given the honor on Wednesday
He wore a tight-fitting black short-sleeved shirt that was unbuttoned to expose his chest and black sunglasses.
His festive appearance suggests Geyer had no idea of his impending fate, despite the recent announcement that Molloy would move from Sydney back to his native Melbourne in 2025.
‘Monday morning knock-off drink, 2.0’, was captioned with the photo.
The former footy star was sensationally let go by Triple M this week.
The NSW State of Origin legend and breakfast show co-host reportedly got the bad news from his ‘Melbourne boss’, who traveled to Sydney to deliver it in person.
Geyer was missing from Wednesday’s show and his co-hosts Mick Molloy, Cat Lynch and Natarsha Belling made no mention of his absence.
Southern Cross Austereo announced two weeks ago that Molloy would return to Melbourne to host that city’s breakfast show in 2025.
However, plans for Geyer had not yet been announced by the network, which has been in quite a shake-up lately.

He took part in Triple M’s breakfast show in Sydney in 2022, alongside Lawrence Mooney, Jess Eva and Chris Page.
Earlier this month, Triple M saw a huge shake-up within the network, with Marty Sheargold stepping into a new role after leaving the breakfast spot in July.
Sheargold, 53, will expand his national Marty Sheargold Show to the drive shift in Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
The show currently airs nationally Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Listeners in these regions can now enjoy an additional two hours of the popular comedian show from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
“I look forward to returning to the Drive shift for NSW and Queensland listeners in 2025 and giving them the extended version of the show,” Sheargold said in a statement.
‘The commute is a time to unwind and end the day with a chat and a laugh, and that’s exactly what I want to achieve.’
Sheargold’s shift to drive means a large number of local shows will be axed by 2025.

The Rush Hour, starring Leisel Jones, Liam Flanagan and Ben Dobbin, which airs in Queensland, will not return next year.
Similarly, NSW’s Rush Hour starring Gus Worland and Jude Bolton will also be axed.
The Adelaide and Perth Rush Hour teams will also not return in 2025.
The Rush Hour team of James Brayshaw and Billy Brownless, currently heard in Melbourne and Tasmania, will now also be broadcast in South and Western Australia, as well as on some regional Triple M stations in the southern states.
Liesel Jones took to Instagram to share the news with her fans, posting a photo of the on-air trio.
“Well it was fun while it lasted,” she wrote.
‘Sad news today that @triplem_rushhour with Leisel Jones, Liam and Dobbo will not take place in 2025.
“I learned a lot on this job and enjoyed the fun,” the post continued.
“Our intention with this show was to always simplify the ride home, no matter what kind of day you’ve had.
‘I hope we were able to bring a smile or a laugh to your arvo. We see you coming around like a rissole. Until next time.’
Sheargold added that he was determined to continue the legacy of the local teams.
“I also wanted to thank the teams from Sydney, Brisbane/Gold Coast and Queensland,” he said.
‘[They are] shows that have all had great stints and been hugely entertaining. I am determined to continue their legacy.”
Currently heard in Melbourne and Tasmania, the Rush Hour team-up of Brayshaw and Brownless will now also air in South and Western Australia and on some regional Triple M stations in the southern states.
