Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan ordered the use of biodegradable material as a replacement.
To control air pollution, the previous government released Rs 19.15 crore under the National Clean Air Program (NCAP) from 2022 to 2024. Moreover, the Union government had also allocated Rs 129.25 crore to tackle pollution, but due to negligence of the previous government, pollution control measures were less effective.
The state government will assess the pollution levels in the city and take necessary measures to control it.
The AQI level recorded in Visakhapatnam was 184 at 11 am as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) data, the air quality index (AQI) recorded in Delhi as of 11 am on Thursday was 378, categorized as ‘very poor’.
The national capital is grappling with rising levels of air pollution after Diwali.
