Skin expert promises her go-to remedy for bags under the eyes ‘fights the effects of time’
A SKIN expert has revealed the best methods to reverse the signs of aging on the skin under the eyes.
Georgina East explained that there are several beauty treatments that target common concerns such as bags and sagging.
She has been working in the beauty industry for over 20 years, from working in a spa to owning her own Grafton Spa and Wellness Ltd.
She also runs the Harley Street skin transformation clinic SKNinfluence in England.
East told The US Sun that he has tips for smoothing the skin under his eyes.
POWERFUL PRODUCTS
She said self-care measures, such as getting enough rest, staying hydrated and wearing sun protection, help keep skin healthy.
However, she has two favorite products in her skin care routine that are specifically designed to rejuvenate the eyes.
“Matis Global-Eyes combines anti-aging matrikines to combat the effects of time,” she said.
“Silk tree extract to reduce puffiness and dark circles, and an anti-wrinkle ingredient to prevent sagging skin.”
East said Matis Relax-Eyes is a “great” alternative and that the anti-fungal treatment is also designed for the delicate and sensitive skin around the eyes.

POWERFUL PATCHES
East said there’s a lot of interest in small, crescent-shaped eye patches that work in a similar way to sheet masks.
She advised thinking carefully about which cream suits you best before applying one under your eyes.
“When you’re doing your research on what’s best for you, look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid, caffeine and collagen,” she said.
“These patches provide an instant boost of hydration and can be great for tired mornings or as part of your skincare routine.
“You can find several options online, such as 24-karat gold under-eye masks, vitamin C patches, and aloe vera eye masks.”
TIMELY TREATMENTS
East said skin clinics like SKNfluence can provide personalized advice on the best products and treatments for under-eye bags.
She revealed two of the most effective treatments that can improve the unsightly skin condition.
“For professional treatments, SKNfluence offers NeoGen Plasma,” she said.
“It is a non-invasive procedure that uses plasma energy to rejuvenate and firm the skin, which can help reduce puffiness under the eyes.
“Lumi Eyes is another option that offers a treatment specifically designed to address under-eye concerns, boost hydration and reduce puffiness.”
East previously spoke to The US Sun about how to properly apply eye care products for maximum results.
She advised gently massaging the products into the skin with your ring finger, without pulling or stretching the area.
She said consistency is the “key” to maintaining youthful-looking skin around the eyes.
What causes bags under the eyes?
Skin expert Georgina East says that mild puffiness or bags under the eyes are common.
She discovered a number of factors that contribute to the speed at which they develop:
“Aging: As the skin naturally ages, it loses skin-firming proteins like collagen and elastin,” she said.
“Lower collagen levels cause a loss of elasticity and tone in both the skin and underlying facial muscles.
“There is sagging of the skin, especially in the area under the eyes where the skin is very thin.
“Genetics: Your genetic makeup may influence whether you are prone to bags under your eyes.
“Some people inherit a predisposition to develop them.
“Moisture retention: Excess fluid can build up under the eyes, causing the lower eyelids to appear puffy and swollen.
“Lifestyle habits: Factors such as lack of sleep, excessive alcohol consumption, smoking and poor diet can contribute to bags under the eyes.
“Sun exposure: UV radiation from the sun can accelerate skin aging and weaken the supporting structures around the eyes, leading to puffiness.”
