A WOMAN is furious after a ‘cunning’ neighbour tried to kill her tree by drilling a hole in it after an argument over leaves.
She claims that the large tree in the backyard of her communal land does not encroach on the neighbor’s yard.

Instead, she was faced with complaints about leaves blowing into his yard when the wind blew.
Still, she was stunned to discover that he had made a drastic decision to drill a hole in the tree.
Post on the Ideas for a garden renovation on a budget In the Facebook group, which has 723,000 members, the woman asked in shock: “Do you have any idea if I can save this tree?
The crafty neighbor drilled a hole in it to kill it.
“He is over 60 years old and he doesn’t disturb his garden just because leaves blow into it. [it].
“He tried [to] hide hole behind it. It’s municipal property, not near his yard.
“It has been reported to the council, they are working on it. It has been there all these years, no problem with surrounding buildings.”
Social media users are also outraged by the stunt and are criticizing the ‘terrible’ neighbor.
One of them said, “They should have at least talked to you! You can’t just go around cutting down trees.”
A second responded angrily: “That’s really awful!”
A third added: “I know if you hammer a rusty nail into fruit trees they come back to life and bear fruit?”
Meanwhile, a fourth asked: “How big is the hole?”
“It looks like a healthy tree, unless it’s a really big hole it will probably survive. Think of the cuts made by tree surgeons, the tree heals itself by growing a scar over it.”
And a fifth was furious: “I really don’t like some people.”
This came after a mother revealed that her neighbour ‘borrows’ her garden every time she goes on holiday – and she even wants to hold her son’s BIRTHDAY party there.
She said: “I am completely stunned by the audacity that someone would do this and then be angry about it, without ever having a conversation with me.”
