‘So flattering!’ woman praises Free People dupe that’s £135 cheaper
A MODE fan is overjoyed after spotting a knock-off Free People dress on Amazon that costs £135 less than the original.
Chlias explained that she had seen the embroidered Dahlia maxi dress on the Free People website but couldn’t justify spending £158 on it.
So she was delighted when she came across a much cheaper version of the dress on Amazon, costing just £22.99.
“Look how cute it is!” she cheered as she put the dress in a video on TikTok, which she bought in pink with red flowers.
“It comes in so many colors and it looks like a Free People knockoff from Amazon.”
But the best thing about the dress was an extra.
While Chlias grinned, “The best part is it has pockets. It has pockets!”
Additionally, Chlias’ nursing bra was completely hidden by the cut of the dress, something she also struggles with.
“But I actually don’t wear a bra and I don’t think it looks that bad,” she said.
“What do you think? Well, it’s really cute!”
The dress’ stretch makes it perfect for breastfeeding, as Chlias concluded: “If you haven’t been influenced yet, I think you need to be influenced!”
The Acrawnni dress on Amazon is available in a whopping 33 different colors.
And people admitted in the comments of the video that they had a hard time choosing between the designs.
“I’m afraid there are too many colors to choose from,” one person wrote.
To which Chlias replied, “I know – I want the blue one or the purple one, but then I end up wanting them all, haha!”
“What is the sizing like? I’m always looking for breastfeeding friendly clothes,” asked another.
Chlias replied, “Size is right, dear.”
“I am a size 10/12 and bought a M as the guide recommended and it is perfect.”
“Why I’m Not Giving Up on the Midi Dress Trend, Even Though Experts Say It’s ‘Dead'”
They are easy to wear, suitable for every occasion and suit every figure. But why is the midi dress no longer an indispensable piece of clothing?
Fabulous deputy fashion editor Abby McHale is obsessed with midi dresses and disappointingly explains why they’re no longer in style.
“Over the years I’ve worn midi dresses to work, on vacation, to weddings and even to a festival.
When Zara’s polka dot midi dress sold out in 2019, I was one of the millions who owned it. But I want it to be known that I bought it long before it became popular.
But fashion experts have declared that the permanent dress – the piece of clothing you can wear anytime, anywhere in your wardrobe – is over.
I first heard this rumour last year, when John Lewis’ fashion director Queralt Ferrer said the midi was one of the fashion items they “had to get rid of” because it had “been around for too long”.
How can it just be eradicated? If we want it, shouldn’t the stores supply it?
But during my shopping spree over the past six months, when I’m normally inundated with dresses, I’ve struggled to find even one decent style on the entire high street.
The only dresses I see seem to be aimed at Gen Z: they’re either tight and form-fitting, or completely shapeless and just plain boring.
I am a firm believer in wearing what you like and what you feel comfortable in. Unfortunately, none of these dresses fit that bill for me.
There is some hope: John Lewis’ spring/summer collection includes a number of midi dresses.
And luckily I still have a quarter of my wardrobe dedicated to them, ready for such occasions.”
“This looks amazing on you,” said a third.
“It’s so flattering. Especially for feeling bloated in the afternoon haha,” Chlias replied.
“It looks beautiful on you,” said someone else.
“It makes me want to buy one…”
“It’s a really pretty dress and it looks great on you,” another commented.
As someone else said, “It really suits you!”
