NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said Prime Minister Narendra Modi cannot stop the move caste censuswhich started in Telangana on Saturday and will soon happen in Maharashtra too.
Sharing a video of the ongoing caste census in Telangana on X, Rahul Gandhi said Congress will break the wall of 50% on reservation.
“Modi ji, caste census has started from today in Telangana. We will use the data obtained from this to formulate policies for the development of each section of the state. This will soon happen in Maharashtra too. Everyone knows that the BJP does not want I want to tell Modiji clearly: you cannot stop the caste census in the entire country. We will break the caste census in this parliament and break the 50% reservation wall,” he said in a post on X.

Before the caste census began, Jairam Ramesh said it will mark a ‘historic and revolutionary’ moment for the Telangana.
Taking up his official address on X, Jairam Ramesh said, “The Congress government in Telangana will start its caste-based probe today. In the coming weeks, 80,000 meters will go door to door, covering over 1.17 crore households in 33 districts. “

“This is the first time since 1931 that a caste-based survey is being conducted by the government in Telangana. It is a historic, revolutionary moment – ​​a moment that is a realization of the aspirations of the Telangana movement for statehood and a fulfillment of one of the key ideals of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar,” said Jairam Ramesh’s post.
He wrote: “It is also, as Rahul Gandhi noted in Hyderabad earlier this week, a blueprint for the national caste census that the INDIA coalition government will conduct. This census, and the lifting of the Supreme Court’s arbitrary cap of 50 percent on reservations for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other backward classes are central to @INCIndia’s vision for the country.
“We are committed to the idea of ​​social, political and economic justice in India, as enshrined in our Constitution and as envisioned by India’s founding fathers,” said Jairam Ramesh.
