Soon you might be able to share your personal radio on YouTube Music
YouTube Music is reportedly getting a new feature that will allow users to share their personal radio with others. According to the report, the new feature will make the user’s personal radio shareable and others will be able to add it to their playlists. Specifically, the personal radio feature has been part of the app for a while now and is refreshed daily based on songs played. It is unknown if the feature is only available in beta or if all users will slowly get access to it.
YouTube Music to Make Personal Radio Shareable
The function was first spotted by Reddit user Rolan_Albarico, who said in a post: “I just got a public playlist that is shareable and updates in real time based on what I usually listen to”. This public playlist is called as personal radio in the YouTube Music app and is based on the songs the user listens to most or prefers.
These songs are selected by an algorithm that monitors users’ in-app activity and listening behavior to create a playlist of their favorite songs. This can be checked by going to Profile > Your channeland scroll down. It is visible in the section where the user can see his top four stats.
The user also shared a link to their shareable personal radio. The description reads: “Made to share. Based on their latest music and always updated.” Interestingly, Google says on its support page that this playlist is updated daily.
According to a report by 9to5Google, this feature is currently only available to those who have set their stats to public. While it hasn’t rolled out widely yet, the following steps will help you enable the feature once it’s available.
- Open the YouTube Music app.
- Tap your profile icon at the top right.
- Go to Institutions.
- Tap on Privacy and location.
- Go to Enable public personal radio.
- Tap the switch next to it to turn it on. Confirm changes.
