Speeding BMW kills two women in Indore; driver flees scene | India News – Times of India


NEW DELHI: Two young women were killed after a speeding car BMW car who were driving the wrong way, collided with their scooter in Indore. According to police reportsThe driver of the car immediately fled the scene after the accident.
Authorities have filed charges against both the vehicle’s owner and driver, and efforts are underway to arrest the suspects.
The tragic incident took place in Khajrana area when Lakshmi Tomar and Diksha Jadon were returning home after visiting the popular Khajrana Ganesh temple fair, PTI reported.
Witnesses reported that the BMW car collided with their scooter, causing both women to fall onto the road. Although they were rushed to a nearby hospital, their injuries were too severe and they succumbed to it.
Manoj Singh Sendhav, head of Khajrana police station, confirmed the details of the incident and said, “Due to the impact, both the women sustained serious injuries and unfortunately they died.”
Lakshmi Tomar, a native of Shivpuri, was the primary breadwinner for her family after her father’s death last year. She had moved to Indore to support them. Diksha Jadon, a resident of Gwalior, was employed with a public sector bank in Indore.
This accident comes months after a similar high-profile case that took place in Pune earlier this year. On May 19, a Porsche driven by a minor under the influence of alcohol collided with a two-wheeler, resulting in the death of two IT professionals. Initially, Juvenile Court (JJB) granted bail to the teenager, on condition that he write a 300-word essay on road safety. However, after considerable public outcry, the JJB reconsidered its decision and the minor was sent to an observation home.
