Star Wars Outlaws is getting its ‘biggest update yet’ later this month

Ubisoft has confirmed that Star Wars Outlaws will receive its biggest update yet. The developer will roll out Title Update 1.4 for the action-adventure game on November 21, bringing improvements to combat, stealth, and character movement. The patch comes in conjunction with the Steam launch of Star Wars Outlaws and the release of the first story expansion, Wild Card. Since its release on August 30, Star Wars Outlaws has received three title updates to address gameplay and technical issues.

In one Developer update On Monday, Ubisoft outlined its approach to post-launch support for Star Wars Outlaws. The game’s new creative director, Drew Rechner, said the studio has incorporated player feedback to prioritize required updates for the game. Rechner detailed three major improvements that would be included in Title Update 1.4.

“The first major area of ​​improvement for the game is combat, where we see a real opportunity to add more depth and excitement to the experience, further rewarding your tactics and precision,” said the director.

“Our second key area is stealth, which is not just about improving the readability and consistency of enemy detection, but also about offering choice in how you approach each encounter.

“Finally, our third major area of ​​focus is centered around the character controls, which means improving coverage reliability, increasing responsiveness when climbing and crouching, and generally improving the consistency of the controls overall.”

According to Rechner, these gameplay improvements will underline players’ greater choice during missions, whether you prefer a stealthy approach or tackle enemies head-on with your blaster. Ubisoft will share specific details about the promised gameplay refinements in the coming weeks.

Title Update 1.4 will be available on all supported platforms on November 21, the same day as the Steam launch of Star Wars Outlaws and the release of the first story expansion, Star Wars Outlaws: Wild Card.

Launch of Star Wars Outlaws

Star Wars Outlaws releases on August 30 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. The action-adventure title, which tells the story of competing crime syndicates in an open-world Star Wars setting, was marred by technical issues and bugs at launch.

A month after the game’s release, Ubisoft said initial sales of Star Wars Outlaws were “softer than expected” and delayed Assassin’s Creed Shadows until February 2025, pointing out Outlaws‘ launch as a learning experience.

“In response to player feedback, Ubisoft’s development teams are currently fully mobilized to quickly implement a series of updates to polish and improve the player experience, engaging large audiences this holiday season and positioning Star Wars Outlaws as a strong long-term player. performer,” the company had said at the time when it announced the game’s November 21 launch date on Steam.

Ubisoft has since rolled out three title updates for Star Wars Outlaws that have addressed bugs, stealth issues in some key missions, and tweaked speed cameras and collisions, among other things.
