Stepmother, 21, with 44-year-old boyfriend trolled as ‘he looks like Raoul Moat’

A COUPLE with a 23-year age gap have been criticised by internet trolls who believe there are “so many red flags”.

Ellie Liptrot, 21, and her boyfriend Mark, 44, revealed how they first met and got together, but people are finding their story ‘not okay at all’.

One of them even commented on her boyfriend’s appearance by asking, “Is that Raoul Moat?”

Raoul Moat, once a Newcastle bouncer, became notorious for his shooting spree.

Moat is known for his violent tendencies and had recently served an 18-week prison sentence at HMP Durham for attacking a nine-year-old relative.

However, the couple, who first met in December 2021, are unfazed by negative comments and regularly upload videos to TikTok on Ellie’s page @elli3liptrot express their love for each other.

In a video, Ellie, the stepmother of his two children, aged 12 and 16, tells how she met Mark three years ago on a night out.

Speaking to the camera, with Mark in the background, she says: “Me and a friend were out on Christmas Eve.

“She texted a guy she knew and asked if he could take us out to dinner. He ended up giving us the guy’s number.

“We called this person and it turned out to be Mark.

“I think he picked us up at 1am and we didn’t get back until 7am because Mark was clearly having the time of his life.”

She went on to tell how they formed a group of friends and did ‘a lot of things together’.

Ellie continues: “Then in March 2022 I decided that I liked Mark more than just a friend.”

From that moment on she ‘practically’ moved in with him.

She continues: “I met the children for the first time in early June 2022 and after a week we were living together full-time.

“It’s weird because we’re both from the same city, yet we live in a very, very small town.

Red flags

“We definitely met at some point in our lives.

“Mark used to have a smoothie shop, so when I was little I would literally go to that smoothie shop.”

The video attracted a lot of attention and many people took to the comments to share their opinions.

One of them wrote: “So many red flags.”

But another commented on the same feed asking, “Then point them out because to me it sounds like they are happy and have no problems at all.”

But another replied, “She was 18 and he was 41.

“They moved after about three months…with his two children.”

The couple also had people praising their relationship. One wrote, “People are baffled by this relationship.. I totally get it!”

Another added: “My husband is 16 years younger than me and he is my world and it works.”
