As autumn approaches, this trend shows no signs of dying down, with the high streets offering plenty of great options.

Not only are these jackets a versatile in-between-season piece, they’re also a hit on social media, as the chocolate hue goes with almost any neutral in your wardrobe.

The luxurious material can be worn both formally and informally, depending on whether you go for old-fashioned luxury or a new, cool look.

While true suede options can be pricey, we hit the jackpot with a more affordable alternative that’s just as impressive.

This is how our fashion team styles the new ‘It-girl’ jacket of 2024…

I love the soft texture and rich color of this faux suede jacket. It’s a great piece to make your whole outfit look expensive.

Since I’m not really in the mood for a complete fall wardrobe yet, I’m combining the chestnut brown color with warm cream colors, like these barrel jeans and soft knits.

I am also in love with these shoes from Arket. The shiny snakeskin contrasts beautifully with the matte texture of the jacket.

Paired with other tonal accessories, like these aviator sunglasses and a toffee bag, this is the perfect, stylish weekend look.

Essential Fall/Winter Wardrobe

A suede jacket is at the top of my wish list for fall and I’m loving this suede jacket from Bershka.

A lot of other coats I’ve seen are extremely expensive so this is a great price, under £50.

This kind of jacket goes with a lot of clothes in my wardrobe. I think it goes not only with casual outfits but also perfect to wear with dresses.

I’m loving the boho trend this season, so for this outfit I paired the jacket with this pink dress from Reserved.

Boots are a must-have this time of year and this brown pair from Steve Madden is a real investment that will last for years to come.

With some gold jewelry and a matching brown bag, I’m ready for fall.

Brown suede coats are on every fashionista’s must-have list this fall.

Why? They are the perfect casual jacket for your free time, but not too casual for the weekend.

I’m wearing mine over a cream turtleneck and a pair of white tapered jeans. A fancy pub lunch is all sorted!

A brown suede jacket also looks great over a tonal midi dress if you want to dress things up a bit.

And if you really don’t want imitation suede, there are plenty of vintage jackets made of real suede on sites like Vinted and eBay.

I’m a huge fan of the suede jacket trend and have been wearing one for two weeks now!

It’s perfect for this changeable weather and my wardrobe is quite neutral so it fits in perfectly.

And at under £50 it’s a bargain – and it even has pockets!

For a Skims imitation, head to Primark for this sports top. I’ve been wearing it non-stop since I bought it.

I’m pairing it with dark jeans and my Acne scarf, but if that’s out of your budget, you can also opt for the M&S version which is almost identical. It sold out last year, so don’t wait too long!

Deichmann really goes all out with these Adidas sneakers that look a lot like the original Sambas, but without the £100 price tag.

Fabulous fashion editor on fall trends

WANT to look fabulous this season? Then listen up…

Clemmie Fieldsend, fashion editor at Fabulous, reveals that these are the top 5 trends from the hottest catwalk designers for fall 2024.

BOHO style: The boho revival is a much-needed refresh for fall and means you can wear your sheer tops, girly dresses and oversized jeans with chunky boots.

But if you don’t like the clothes, opt for bigger accessories like roomy bags, big earrings and even bigger bracelets.

TEXTURE: Whether it’s smooth leather, lush faux fur or soft suede, textures are everywhere this season.

They give your look more depth, making you stand out and look more expensive.

BURGUNDY: Chestnut brown, oxblood red, berry red: whatever you call it, red is all the rage this fall.

The deep, rich colour is present throughout and looks best with shades of grey, black, dark blue and from head to toe.

LADY LIKE: Matching tops, cardigans and pencil skirts may sound old-fashioned, but they are perfect for a feminine look.

Pair with satin cami dresses and fitted blazers for an ultra-feminine look.

LEOPARD PRINT: According to Tagwalk, 75% of the runway this season was leopard print – a clear majority.

It was already a trend that was on the rise last season, but now it is back in the fall and everywhere on the high streets. Whether it is shoes or coats that cover the floor, it is a must-have trend.
