Supporters of Kate Middleton slam TV presenter for ‘disgusting’ comment about Princess of Wales’s actions as she returns to royal duties after cancer treatment

Good Morning Britain panellist Narinder Kaur has faced a furious backlash after she said Kate Middleton has ‘got so much older’ as she returns to royal duties following cancer treatment.

The former Big Brother contestant made the offensive comment about X yesterday when she reposted an article about the Princess of Wales attending Remembrance Sunday commemorations at the Cenotaph.

The 51-year-old, who acts as a commentator on shows including GMB, GB News and Loose Women, wrote: ‘Real question: why has Kate lived so old? Isn’t she only 42? Is she a smoker? It’s the only explanation.’

Ms Kaur’s tweet sparked a firestorm of outrage, with other X users calling the comment ‘terrible’ and ‘disgusting’.

She initially doubled down and responded to a tweet noting that Kate had undergone cancer treatment, saying, “My brother had cancer…he didn’t live to be that old.”

The TV personality has since shared a video in which she admitted the tweet was “stupid” before lashing out at trolls who had sent her “sexual, racist messages.” [and] violent abuse’.

She said: ‘I thought I’d make a short video instead of tweet after tweet because it’s getting quite ridiculous – as if it wasn’t ridiculous enough already.

‘I posted a stupid tweet. That wasn’t my intention, I didn’t mean to be malicious or mean or anything like that.

‘That’s not who I am, anyone who knows me. It was stupid to ask about old age. I’ve admitted that, I’ve thrown my hands up and apologized if it was offensive.

‘The only people who felt offended though is because many people on Twitter and social media have asked exactly what I asked but have not received the sexual, racist and violent abuse I have done through accounts with EDL flags, Union Jacks , disgusting abuse.”

Ms Kaur said her brother ‘underwent a brutal course of chemotherapy’ while suffering from cancer before his death and claimed she would not have made any comments about Kate’s appearance in relation to her cancer diagnosis.

In the same video, Kaur scandalously accused Kate of having “a lot of privilege” because she didn’t have to work while she was being treated for cancer.

And claiming that many of the responses she had received following her original tweet were about Meghan Markle, she added: “What does Meghan have to do with it?”

The commentator accused her critics of “turning Kate against Meghan” and added: “You have exposed your story. You revealed that this was all about me as a brown woman, an Indian, having the audacity to criticize Kate’s appearance.

‘I’m not going anywhere. I’m not leaving the country. I’ll continue. You can keep canceling me all you want, but you will not silence my voice just because I am a brown woman, and I am, and you will never convince me otherwise.”

X user Paul Tavares was shocked by Ms Kaur’s comments, among others, writing: ‘What an extremely disgusting tweet from Narinder Kaur; on so many human levels of decency. Just disgusting!!”

Broadcaster Josh Rom added: “SHE IS FIGHTING CANCER. I can’t tell you how insulting you are.’

The Princess of Wales joined the King and Prince of Wales in London yesterday as they led the nation in remembering Britain’s war dead.

Kate performed her second consecutive day of royal duties for the first time since it was revealed earlier this year that she was being treated for cancer.

She wore a black military-style jacket with epaulettes and carried her traditional three poppies as she joined the nation in two minutes of silence.

The moving tribute commemorates her great-grandmother’s three brothers, who all died in the First World War.

She also wore a silver Queen’s Dragoon Guards brooch, a reference to her role as Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment.

Kate watched yesterday’s Whitehall event from above, on the nearby balcony of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in central London, next to Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh.

The princess appeared emotional as she quietly closed her eyes in remembrance and bowed her head respectfully.

In a touching moment after the ceremony, the Duchess of Edinburgh could be seen placing a tender hand on her shoulder as they left the balcony together.

Last night she attended the Festival of Remembrance ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall in London with her husband William.

Kate, 42, wore Bahrain Pearl Diamond Drop Earrings, from the private collection of the late Queen Elizabeth, which were also worn by the late Princess Diana in 1982.

Laura Taylor, jeweler at Lorel Diamonds, said of the significance of her choice: ‘By wearing these earrings, Kate wants to honor the Queen’s legacy and the tradition of wearing pearls for moments of reflection and remembrance, following the preference of the late monarch for understated elegance on such occasions.’

She added: ‘Pearls are deeply associated with respect, dignity and tranquility, offering a subtle yet elegant appearance making them particularly suitable for commemorative events.

‘The late Queen Elizabeth often chose pearls for national moments of mourning and reflection, appreciating their understated beauty. By wearing these meaningful pieces, Kate not only honors her personal connections to Diana and the late Queen, but also embraces the solemnity of the events in a way that feels both respectful and deeply personal.”

Ms Kaur revealed during the race riots earlier this year that she felt ‘too scared’ to let her children leave the house.

The broadcaster, whose parents emigrated from India, said she was “saddened and discouraged” by the far-right violence.

“I’m scared to let the kids out of the house at all,” she wrote in The Mirror.

“My husband and I are reluctant to travel through London, a city where we normally felt safe, because we are concerned about our safety amid these race riots. The threat is real and personal.”

Last month the broadcaster claimed she was ‘kicked, punched and verbally abused’ by a passenger during a flight to India.

She said she was “hurled forward” by a woman while she slept after rowing over a reclining seat on an Air India flight.

Sharing the details with

“She literally threw me forward and I didn’t have my belt on. She then started verbally abusing me. FYI, she wasn’t even drunk.”

In March, Ms Kaur backed Nike’s infamous decision to redesign England’s St George’s Cross kits, saying it was her feel ‘included’ because the flag is ‘associated with intolerance, fascism and racism’ after being ‘hijacked’ by the far right.

England fans vowed to boycott Nike and their hated new £125 shirt for Euro 2024 after offending millions by redrawing the flag with a ‘rainbow-coloured abomination’.

But Ms Kaur shared her controversial belief that the English flag in its original red and white is ‘scary’ and represents ‘racism’.

She told the Jeremy Vine Show: “I saw that flag and felt involved. I felt that Nike’s reason was to unite. Unfortunately, the flag of St. George has been hijacked and degraded. And as far as I can remember – 60s, 70s, 80s, it was hijacked by far-right groups.

‘All I see when I see the flag of Saint George are people covered in it and giving the Nazi salute, being racist and hating Muslims. So there’s nothing to be proud of when people like that wave that flag, and that’s actually quite scary.

‘I’m not proud of this flag, I’m afraid of the flag. That flag does not represent tolerance, but racism.’

Ms Kaur suggested that ‘tolerance’ is an important national characteristic and claimed there was a need to ‘reclaim’ the St George’s Cross.

‘What we need is for the majority who are apparently proud of this flag to reclaim what Britain is [sic] will pass,” she said.

“Because that’s the way it is right now [associated] with bigotry, fascism and racism. And the majority don’t show it proudly, because they are even a little ashamed of it.’
