Surprising new polls have revealed whether Democrats actually want Kamala Harris to be president, as Biden’s popularity among the left declines.
The shocking poll comes as more Democrats are speaking out against the 81-year-old Biden and encouraging the president to withdraw from the race.
A growing group of Democrats in the House of Representatives and Senate have called for Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.
Some are even talking about a potential “loophole” that could be used to force Biden out of the presidential race if he refuses to withdraw.
Delegates at the Democratic National Convention are playing with the options they have if Biden has not stepped aside or withdrawn from the race entirely by the time the party convention takes place in August.
Politicians are considering a ‘conscience-free loophole’ that would allow them to vote for a new candidate.
DNC delegate and political scientist Elaine Kamarck spoke to other delegates via a Zoom call Friday morning.
She informed them of the “loophole” that would allow them to drop Biden if they did not have a “good conscience” about their promised choice, determined by primaries and caucuses.
Earlier this week, Biden revealed the reason why he would withdraw from the presidential race.
He said his doctor had to tell him directly that he had a medical condition that made it necessary.
“If I had a medical condition and doctors came to me and said, I have this problem and I have that problem,” Biden said in an interview with BET News.
A few days later, Biden was diagnosed with COVID after taking a test on Wednesday and experiencing a runny nose and cough.
Later, he carefully boarded Air Force One, via the shorter of the two flights of stairs, for the flight home.
