Now, in a candidly honest post on her blog, Happily Eva After, the mother of three has reflected on the nasty comments and admitted that the immense hate made her cry

“When I saw the post… I was so surprised by the fact that it had already gone viral… for two reasons that were completely out of my control: My boobs,” she wrote.

‘I never thought that people I don’t even know would find my body so offensive, let alone care so much about what I would wear on my own wedding day.’

Eva – who shares Susan with Italian filmmaker Franco Amurri – said she has “always had a naturally large bust” and that her breast size has “fluctuated” over the years as she has had three children and breastfed them.

She is the mother of daughter Marlowe, eight, and sons Major and Mateo, both four, from her nine-year marriage to former soccer star Kyle Martino, 43.

She added that ‘as anyone with large breasts knows’, the more your breasts are ‘exposed and open’, the ‘more flattering the clothes are to your entire figure’ – something she specifically took into account during her search for the perfect dress to say ‘I do’ in.

“I went to the store to buy a wedding dress on purpose because I wanted to show off my figure and really show myself as a woman — body parts included,” she continued.

“Sexy” and “elegant” were two words I mentioned at every dress appointment.”

She added a few of the ‘cruel’ comments to the post, which read: ‘Yes, strapless dresses aren’t for everyone’, ‘Horrible, inappropriate dress’, ‘Horrible dress. So unflattering. Take them away’, ‘That is the weirdest display of tatas I have ever seen’ and ‘Droopy [boobs].

“I felt hot tears welling up in my eyes, in a way that took me back to high school,” Eva reflected on reading the mean messages

“I felt hot tears well up in my eyes, a feeling that took me back to high school,” Eva mused after reading the mean messages.

‘Here were people I didn’t even know and who didn’t know me, spending time and energy typing something they hoped would bring me one thing and one thing only: Shame. And for a while, it worked.’

According to the star, a lot of “horrible things have happened on the internet” in the past, so she thought she had thick skin.

But the ‘bad feeling’ that there were so many ‘people who, when they saw the joy of her little family, immediately tried to hurt her’ really depressed her.

“I was picked apart by strangers for things I never try to qualify about myself (how my boobs look in clothes), because I am a human being who just wants to feel beautiful, be a good person, raise my kids and enjoy my life,” she continued.

‘Maybe it was stupid of me, but I never thought that people would react so strongly to how I looked in a dress I had chosen for my own wedding.

‘When you have to deal with this kind of emotional aggression from strangers, it is very disturbing.

“I could never in a million years imagine seeing an image of a person in their happiest moment and wanting to publicly tear them to shreds. Even if I hated them.”

She also explained that she “intentionally” chose a dress that would “show off her figure” so she could “celebrate herself as a woman.” She was seen with her husband before they tied the knot.

She theorized that the hatred stemmed from “fear, self-hatred, insecurity and anger.”

“I stopped feeling sorry for myself and started feeling sorry for those people,” she added.

Eva said she “shudders to think” that her daughter is growing up in a time “where women’s bodies are still a battlefield.”

“Are my breasts as firm as they were when I was 20, before they could support three times as many human lives? Absolutely not,” she said.

“Do I care? Some days more than others. But my body is not something I’m ashamed of.”

But ultimately she saw it as a valuable lesson and said she hoped other women would feel more comfortable in their own skin if they talked about it.

“I don’t really have a mission statement here, nor an answer. But I do have a message,” she concluded.

‘Don’t believe the hype. When you felt beautiful? YOU WERE. When you felt like a woman? YOU WERE.

‘When your body felt like it was doing what it was supposed to do? IT WAS. You don’t need anyone’s permission to make the choices you make.

“And if people feel something about that choice? Well, that’s none of your business.”

Eva and her boyfriend, with whom she has been a chef for three years, tied the knot at Windrift Hall in New York’s Hudson Valley.

She told earlier People about the corset dress: ‘I wanted to feel sexy but elegant, and I think the dress is the perfect balance.

“I love that it has a vintage feel and is ultra-feminine without being too fluffy.”

After the ceremony, she changed into a second outfit of the evening: a mini dress, also designed by Kim Kassas, with a feather trim and lace.

“I paired it with custom Nike Air Force Ones that were embellished with pearls and our wedding date. It felt like Priscilla Presley-meets-street style,” she told the publication.
