Susan Sarandon’s daughter Eva Amurri has slammed critics who were “shocked” by her plunging wedding dress.

The 39-year-old actress and lifestyle blogger took to Instagram on Monday to share photos from her wedding to chef Ian Hock, which took place on Saturday. She described her nuptials as “the most special day full of love.”

At the same time, the mother of three also hit out at critics of her bustier-style wedding dress by Kim Kassa, targeting those who felt her breasts should have been “hidden.”

She shared a photo of herself and Hock, writing, “And for anyone shocked that my boobs aren’t ‘tucked away’…” She then added a close-up of her cleavage with the caption, “feel free to screenshot this later” and a kiss emoji.

Amurri purchased the corseted design at Bridal Reflections in New York City and told People about her dress: ‘I wanted to feel sexy but elegant, and I think the dress is the perfect balance.’

She jokingly shared a zoomed-in photo of her cleavage, urging critics to “screenshot this for later,” before adding a kiss emoji

“I love that it has a vintage feel and is ultra-feminine without being too frizzy,” she added.

She paired the dress with a long veil for added glamour.

After the ceremony, she changed into a second outfit of the evening: a mini dress, also designed by Kim Kassas, with a feather trim and lace.

“I paired it with custom Nike Air Force Ones that were embellished with pearls and our wedding date. It felt like Priscilla Presley-meets-street style!” she told the publication.

The backlash the newlyweds received over their plunging wedding dress is very similar to the criticism her own mother faced in 2016, when Susan was criticized for flashing cleavage while receiving the SAG Awards obituary.

The actress caused a stir on social media at the time when she took to the stage at the prestigious event in a plunging white jacket that revealed a busty bra underneath.

Many called Susan’s outfit “inappropriate” due to the somber nature of the obituary segment, including Piers Morgan, whose criticism prompted the actress to hit back by sharing a photo of herself wearing only a bra during her role in The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

And it seems her daughter has inherited that same biting sense of humor, judging by her positive comments on Instagram.

Before addressing her critics, Amurri – who shares Susan with Italian filmmaker Franco Amurri – shared a candid video from her wedding in which she put on a breathtaking show as she showed off her controversial dress.

She said yes to her boyfriend, with whom she has been a chef at Windrift Hall in New York’s Hudson Valley for three years.

She joined her loved ones under a wooden gazebo as the ceremony began.

She tied the knot with her chef boyfriend of three years on Saturday at Windrift Hall in New York’s Hudson Valley

She walked hand in hand with her son past a fire pit before the outdoor ceremony.

“We really wanted to put our family at the center of this story and make it as much about the kids as it is about us,” she previously enthusiastically told People.

Speaking about her special day, she said that she and her partner ‘worked with our registrar to create a ceremony that felt very personal and intimate, and then we focused on our second love in life: food!’

“All we really needed was the beautiful atmosphere, our loved ones and a wonderful party,” she told the outlet.

The happy couple opted for an intimate wedding with around 40 guests, in the presence of her famous mother Susan and her ex Tim Robbins.

The ceremony, which had a French garden party theme, featured “lots of natural colors that mimicked the estate’s surroundings, with small, playful accents of chamomile flowers and pops of pale green and pale blue.”

“We wanted to write our own love letters to each other and read them out as vows, that was really special for us,” she explains.

‘We also had no other bridal party than the children, which was perfect.

“Major (Eva’s son) walked me down the aisle, an experience I will never forget,” she concluded.

The happy couple got engaged at the end of February last year.

She is the mother of daughter Marlowe, eight, and sons Major and Mateo, four, from her nine-year marriage to former soccer star Kyle Martino, 43.

The mother of three spoke candidly about her relationship with the chef on her blog Happily Eva in January 2021.

In a post called A Little Love Life Update, she wrote: “I’m so excited to share with you all that I have an amazing boyfriend in my life! His name is Ian, he’s super sweet, creative, handsome, funny and we have so much in common.”

“Ian is a chef (HOTTT), and we met when I went to dinner with a friend at his restaurant. My friend went to high school with him in New York City (yes, he’s a New Yorker too!), and he came out of the kitchen to say hi,” she continued. “We started talking and just clicked and had a spark.”

“I followed him on Instagram and he followed me back. We started chatting and got to know each other really well for a month by exchanging messages and laughing together over text,” she added.

‘We discovered how much we had in common (both foodies, museum lovers, both bookworms, both speaking French… and little by little a very special friendship was born. And all that before we even went on a date!

“When he first took me out to dinner, I felt SO connected to him and so safe with him. It felt like an old-fashioned courtship in many ways.”

Eva is the mother of a daughter Marlowe, eight, and sons Major, seven, and Mateo, four, whom she shares with her ex-husband Kyle Martino, 43.

The blogger and the former Los Angeles Galaxy footballer were married from 2011 to 2020.
