Swan View Death: Brock Pavy’s Body Found in a Storm Drain, Just Days Before His 40th Birthday

A man found dead just before his 40th birthday has been described as a typical Australian man who was ‘always in the wrong place at the wrong time’.

The body of 39-year-old Brock Pavy was found by bystanders in a storm drain in Swan View, north-east Perth, on Thursday morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene but were unable to resuscitate Mr Pavy.

As detectives continue to investigate his ‘suspicious’ death, his shocked family breaks their silence to pay tribute to Mr Pavy.

“Brock was just a month away from his 40th birthday. He had a great sense of humor, an infectious laugh, but was always in the wrong place at the wrong time,” according to a statement released by police on behalf of the family.

‘He liked the simple things like fishing, a good T-bone steak, big hot dogs, comfortable sweatsuits and a beer and a cigarette.

“No parent should have to bury their child.”

Brock was survived by his father, sister and two nephews.

A police spokesman said Tuesday that Pavy’s death “is being treated as suspicious until proven otherwise,” The Western Australian reported.

Detectives are urging anyone with information about the occupants of a white Ford Falcon sedan, which was parked at the corner of Morrison and Marlboro Roads around 2 a.m. last Thursday, to contact them.

Police are also asking anyone who can use a dashcam to come forward, as well as anyone who may have seen or been with Mr Pavy in the days or weeks before his death.

They added that it remains unclear how long Mr Pavy’s body had been in the drain.

Marlboro Road was closed last Thursday afternoon as forensic personnel searched the area for possible evidence, while dozens of police officers rang doorbells at homes.

According to a shocked local resident, Mr Pavy owned an apartment less than 100 metres from where his body was found.

Late Thursday night, officers were seen guarding a unit in the complex while detectives searched the backyards of neighboring properties.

Other residents became alarmed.

“It’s horrible to hear that something like this has happened close to us when we were out walking with our children,” one woman told Nine News.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
