Sydney man dependent on Centrelink benefits caught with Lamborghini and Harley Davidson
A Sydney man who has been receiving unemployment benefits from Centrelink since 2019 has been caught with a Lamborghini, a Harley Davidson and two Rolex watches.
In May, police launched an investigation into the unexplained wealth of individuals believed to have ties to organised criminal networks.
The investigation led them to a unit in Parramatta in July.
During the search, detectives found and seized a Lamborghini Huracan, a Harley Davidson V-Rod and two Rolex watches.
The total value of all seized goods is estimated at over $500,000.
A 39-year-old man, who has been receiving unemployment benefits since 2019, was charged on August 16 with dishonestly possessing and tampering with a unique identification code.
He was given a summons to appear in Parramatta District Court on Friday, October 4, 2024.
