A woman who claims she is “allergic to running” describes the moment when she “almost died” after rushing to catch a flight and suffering a severe reaction.

Divz Mangat, 27, traveled from her home in Canada to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic last month with her sister, Dee Mangat, and some friends.

The ladies were forced to race through the airport to avoid missing their flight, and soon after Divz began breaking out in hives.

They got so bad that she had to use an EpiPen for fear of her throat closing up — and the incident has convinced her that she has exercise-induced anaphylaxis, a rare condition in which patients experience allergic reactions after participating in physical exertion. activity.

“For the past few months, every time I run or get stressed, I break out in hives,” she explained to News week recently.

“I wasn’t sure if it was from running or stress. But that day I realized it’s 100 percent because I’m running and I’m stressed.”

Divz’s sister, Dee, documented and shared the airport incident TikTokwhere it was viewed more than 6.6 million times – and left many people on the internet baffled by the condition.

‘How [Divz] almost died due to delayed flight,” she began in the viral video.

“Our first maiden flight was delayed and we have a connecting flight… so we had to run to the gate,” she continued as a clip of the girls running through the airport flashed across the screen.

“That’s when it started to get really bad. Divz has had severe allergic reactions but she doesn’t know what she is allergic to either. Once we got on the plane, she started having hives.”

It then cut to video of the two girls sitting on the plane as Divz showed off her hives — which had developed on her face and arms — to the camera.

Dee explained that her sister tried taking Benedryl, but it didn’t help, so she was forced to use the EpiPen.

In the end, she said the treatment helped and she felt “fine” afterwards, except she felt “a little sleepy.”

While chatting with Newsweek, Divz explained that she had to go to the hospital “a few times” because of the mysterious allergic reactions.

The hospital doctors were unable to determine the cause, so she was told to see a specialist.

She is currently waiting for an appointment and in the meantime she is trying to take it easy.

‘The whole journey [in the DR] the girls were like, ‘Don’t run away. Just walk where you need to go,'” she explained.

“I’m very careful not to let my heart beat really fast. I’m just trying to be really calm and make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

“I’ve never seen anyone allergic to running — but it ended up being quite an eventful video.”

After Dee’s TikTok got so much attention online, thousands of people took to the comment section to share their thoughts.

While some people were surprised by the condition, others who also suffer from EIA spoke up and shared their own experiences.

Some medical professionals even stepped in and advised Divz – and she was very grateful for their expertise.

“Seeing other people have similar things helps in a way,” she said.
