Megan Fox revealed that her marriage to Brian Austin Green had been ‘unfulfilling’ and admitted to ‘falling in love with other people’ during the course of their long-term relationship.

The Transformers actress, 37 – who confirmed the end of her engagement to Machine Gun Kelly – got candid about the former couple’s union in the latest episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast on Tuesday.

The star tied the knot with the Beverly Hills, 90210 actor, 50, in 2010 until their separation in 2020. Their divorce was finalized in 2021 and the pair share three children: Noah, 11, Bodhi, 10 and Journey, seven.

‘First of all, let me just say, I was not a great girlfriend to Brian. I’ll be very honest,’ Fox admitted to host, Alex Cooper.

‘And he was not great to me either all the time, but I think it would be easy for me to lean into and complain about or let it seem like that relationship was one way. Maybe I was not great.’

Megan further explained, ‘Because I was young and really should not have been in a relationship of that level of commitment and magnitude.’

Both Fox and Green began dating in 2004, when the actress was around 18-years-old and the actor was 31.

‘I shouldn’t have been involved in that when I was 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23. I shouldn’t have been.’

The Jennifer’s Body star then recalled that she, ‘did a lot of, like, falling in love with other people all the time.’

‘I would go to work and fall in love because I was a kid. And, yeah, I never had the full freedom to be single and experience that life…’

The mother-of-three continued, ‘And I thought for a minute when I got divorced that that’s what I was gonna do, and I was single for like three weeks.’

Earlier this year on his own podcast called …With Brian Austin Green, the actor additionally reflected on first dating Megan when she was only 18.

‘She didn’t get to experience being a single, young woman at the top of her fucking game,’ he explained, while adding, ‘She was really starting to feel the weight of it.’

Following the separation, Brian has since moved on with Dancing With The Stars pro, Sharna Burgess.

The two began dating in 2020 and welcomed their first child together in June 2022, followed by their engagement last year in September. He also has another son with ex Vanessa Marcil.

Fox also started dating rapper Machine Gun Kelly in 2020 and the pair went public with the budding romance later that summer.

However, despite becoming engaged in January 2022, the actress also revealed on the Call Her Daddy podcast that the engagement has ended after a rather turbulent year between the two.

And while she did give the update about the engagement, she did not confirm the status of their current relationship.

‘I feel like everyone has such an opinion on your guys relationship. You got engaged, then I think it was called off, then we don’t know what’s going on with you. How would you describe your relationship with MGK?’ Alex Cooper asked.

Megan responded, ‘I think that what I’ve learned from being in this relationship is that it’s not for public consumption, so I think as of now, I don’t have a comment on like the status of the relationship per say.’

‘What I can say is that is what I refer to as being my twin soul and there will always be a tether to him no matter what. I can’t say for sure what the capacity will be, but I will always be connected to him somehow.’

‘Beyond that I’m not willing to explain. But all those things you said were accurate things that have occurred and I can see them being confusing or interesting to people and them being like, “What’s up?”‘

Megan and MGK met on the set of Midnight In The Switchgrass back in 2020 and began dating that year.

They never shied their affection for one another in public, often putting on PDA-packed displays wherever they went.

In 2022 they became engaged, and when announcing their betrothal on Instagram, Megan said she and MGK ‘drank each other’s blood’ to celebrate the occasion.

But just over a year later, Megan sensationally hinted she had split from MGK as she shared a cryptic Instagram post before completely deleting her account.

The actress posted a video in which she appeared to burn a letter in a bonfire, along with a bag.

She also uploaded a very raunchy string of mirror selfies while joined by a male pal, in which she put on a busty display in a plunging black top and cut-out trousers.

Fox then removed all traces of Machine Gun Kelly from her Instagram grid, having unfollowed him before deleting her account altogether.

Ultimately they seemed to patch things up and things appear to be all well between them now, with the couple recently seen going on a getaway to Mexico together.

'What I can say is that is what I refer to as being my twin soul and there will always be a tether to him no matter what. I can't say for sure what the capacity will be, but I will always be connected to him somehow,' she said

The rapper also recently tattooed his entire upper body in black ink, reportedly to prove to Megan that he is 100% committed to their relationship.

Fox also prioritizes raising her three children and co-parenting with ex, Brian. His fiancee, Sharna, discussed the topic last year on the Whine Down With Jana Kramer podcast.

‘And [Megan’s] very much a part of our life, and we’ll always be connected because of the kids.’

‘So we are all family. So there’s no bad feelings there to be like that cannot be in this house,’ the dancer added.

In Tuesday’s episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Megan admitted that she ‘loses a lot of sleep’ when it comes to her children being in the public eye, and said, ‘I know one of them is going to be in the public, probably all three of them.’

‘They’re drop-dead gorgeous kids and both of their parents are actors in the industry so it’s likely they’re going to have some type of public platform at a certain point. I worry about that every day.’

She then revealed her children were not ‘raised with screens, and they don’t have iPads or anything like that or phones.’

‘I can’t keep that up forever, eventually, that will happen, I’m trying to delay it as long as possible, but when they get a little bit older.’

‘It’s still too early and I don’t want to put the weight of my experience on them. I want them to have their own experience and I don’t want to pre-load it by being like, “This is all the suffering that Mommy’s been through.”‘

With additional U.S. aid still in doubt, Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III on Tuesday called for “creative, adaptable and sustainable ways” to continue arming Ukraine and praised European allies who sought to strengthen Kiev’s military as the war against Russia entered a critical phase. stretch.

Mr. Austin, speaking in Germany at the start of a semi-regular meeting of nearly 50 countries supplying Ukraine’s armed forces, said allies would “dig deeper to get crucial security assistance to Ukraine.” He singled out Denmark, France, Germany and Sweden for recent weapons donations and noted the Czech Republic’s efforts to deliver 800,000 artillery shells – the first tranche of which could arrive on the battlefield within weeks.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said Berlin would send Ukraine 10,000 rounds of much-needed artillery shells, 100 armored infantry vehicles and transport equipment in a new injection of aid worth 500 million euros, about $544 million.

“Things are progressing sometimes in small steps, sometimes in bigger steps, but the most important thing is the constant supply of ammunition,” Pistorius told journalists in Germany. local news reports.

The United States remains the largest donor of military aid to Ukraine, and last week Washington pledged another $300 million in air defense missiles, artillery shells and armor systems. The latest package also included assault missiles with a range of about 100 miles that deliver clusters of small munitions and can cause damage over a wide area, although they are still at least a week away from arriving.

Still, Ukrainian forces are expected to burn through the new U.S. aid within a few weeks, and it’s unlikely the Biden administration will be able to send much more unless Republicans in Congress agree to a $60 billion emergency spending plan to send additional weapons to send to Ukraine. and strengthen arms production in the United States.

At the meeting, held at Ramstein Air Base, a US military hub in Germany, Mr Austin said: “The struggle in Ukraine remains one of the great causes of our time.”

“The Ukrainian people do not have a day to lose, and neither do we,” he added. “So we continue to develop creative, adaptable and sustainable ways to support Ukraine’s defenders.”

But Ukrainian soldiers are already running low on ammunition: a shortage of artillery shells forced a retreat to the eastern city of Avdiivka, and air defense missiles have been rationed around the highest priority cities and infrastructure to protect against Russian attacks.

On Monday, President Volodymyr Zelenskiy of Ukraine said: “The needs are obvious: patriots, ATACMS, F-16s and of course artillery,” ticking off a list of missiles, fighter jets and grenades. At a meeting in the Ukrainian capital Kiev with Senator Lindsey Graham, the South Carolina Republican, Mr. Zelensky urged allies to quickly supply them.

The $60 billion aid package for Ukraine has been blocked by Republicans in the House of Representatives. In his own summary of Monday’s meeting in Kiev, Mr. Graham predicted that at least some U.S. aid to Ukraine would come in the form of loans, as former President Donald J. Trump has pushed for, rather than outright donations.

“I know Americans want to help our friends and allies, but I also believe we should consider our economic situation as we help others,” Mr. Graham said. said in a statement on Monday. He said he would also demand that the Biden administration send longer-range missiles to Ukraine, which would allow its forces to attack Russian territory, and that training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets be accelerated.

Uncertainty about U.S. involvement in Ukraine has largely pushed European allies to try to fill the void, but production of key weapons systems and artillery ammunition has struggled to ramp up and cannot keep up with demand.

Some European leaders – especially in the Baltic states, Scandinavian countries and those bordering Ukraine – have also raised alarm over the specter of a Russian invasion of NATO territory if Russia were to win the current conflict.

Mr. Austin reiterated these concerns ahead of the meeting in Ramstein, where he sat next to Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. It was Mr. Austin’s first in-person return to the group since two hospitalizations this year, including a days-long stint in January related to complications from a prostate cancer operation that he failed to disclose to the White House, prompting criticism.

“Let’s not kid ourselves: Putin won’t stop at Ukraine,” Austin said. “But as President Biden has said, Ukraine can stop Putin if we support Ukraine and provide the weapons the country needs to defend itself.”

Erik Schmitt contributed reporting from Washington.

The world’s 30 coolest streets for 2024 have been named by Time Out and it’s a thoroughfare in the ‘ultra-trendy suburbs’ of Melbourne that takes the crown.

It’s followed by one of Hong Kong’s oldest roads, with a street in Austin, Texas, that ‘encapsulates the city’s spirit’ taking bronze. The UK doesn’t fare well, managing just one entry – London’s Gerrard Street in 17th place.

The ranking – compiled from the thoughts, ‘hyper-local insight’ and expertise of Time Out’s global editorial team –  highlights ‘must-see streets, roads, avenues, plazas and boulevards in cities around the globe, where locals head for a guaranteed good time’, the guide says.

Grace Beard, Travel Editor at Time Out, said: ‘You only really get to know a city when you veer down its side streets, and Time Out’s list of the World’s Coolest Streets celebrates the avenues, thoroughfares, backstreets and boulevards where local life really thrives. Nominated by our local expert editors and contributors – who know their cities like nobody else – these are the best streets in cities around the world right now to eat, drink, dance, shop and stroll.’

Scroll down to see the results in full and cast your vote for your favourite street among the top 10 in our poll at the bottom…

10. Consell de Cent, Barcelona

Consell de Cent in Barcelona, which lands 10th in the ranking, comprises ‘more than 6km (3.7 miles) that cut right through the city’s core’ and is lined with shops and restaurants

‘Walking down Consell de Cent is like taking a stroll through a microcosm of Barcelona,’ says Time Out of this ‘vibrant’ street in the city’s Eixample neighbourhood.

Since its pedestrianisation, the central hub boasts ‘more than 6km (3.7 miles) that cut right through the city’s core’ and it ‘no longer feels like a chore to walk through’. Instead, citygoers can enjoy the many restaurants, boutiques and hangout spots that line the street, according to the guide.

‘You’ve got everything from the latest crazes like Chinese hot pot joints, CBD shops, and beauty salons to timeless favourites like vermouth bars, cozy tortilla spots, and artisan bakeries,’ it adds.

What are Time Out’s hot tips for the street? Soak up some culture at one of its many galleries and, when the night rolls around, ‘hit up one of the vibrant LGBTQ+ spots like Priscilla Cafe or Plata Cocktail Bar’.

9. Chazawa-dori, Tokyo

Chazawa-dori, a street in Tokyo's Sangenjaya district that ranks ninth, is 'presided over by a giant gorilla jutting out from the rooftop of a FamilyMart convenience store'

Chazawa-dori, a street in Tokyo’s Sangenjaya district that ranks ninth, is ‘presided over by a giant gorilla jutting out from the rooftop of a FamilyMart convenience store’

Just two train stops away from Shibuya, Tokyo’s Sangenjaya neighbourhood has the ideal mix of city-centre excitement with the relaxed vibe of a mostly residential neighbourhood.

So says Time Out, which shines a light on its main thoroughfare – Chazawa-dori – which ‘is presided over by a giant gorilla jutting out from the rooftop of a FamilyMart convenience store’.

But this street has more to offer than an iconic photo opportunity, according to the publication, which adds: ‘Every Sunday afternoon, Chazawa-dori is closed to traffic, making it the perfect time to explore this vibrant street on foot, popping in and out of friendly restaurants, cosy cafés, local grocers and charming bakeries.’

What does Time Out recommend to eat? Sushi with wine at the ‘sleek and modern’ Sancha Monica or a cream soda float topped with ice-cream and fresh fruit at Guuutara Coffee.

8. Arnaldo Quintela, Rio de Janeiro

Arnaldo Quintela in Rio de Janeiro comes eighth. It has established itself as 'a culinary hotspot', says Time Out

Arnaldo Quintela in Rio de Janeiro comes eighth. It has established itself as ‘a culinary hotspot’, says Time Out

‘Amazing burgers’, Brazilian music and late night venues are on the cards at Arnaldo Quintela in Rio de Janeiro, according to Time Out.

Not too long ago, the street ‘would’ve been a ghost town after work hours’, it says, adding: ‘But over the past few years, this street has established itself as a culinary hotspot, and now you can hardly move for people filling its sidewalks each night.

‘Old mechanic shops have become cosy places to eat and drink; groups gather inside and outside traditional bars like Xepa and Treme Treme; and hipster hangouts such as Calma are where to see and be seen. There are more upmarket restaurants for those who prefer to sip fine wine with a standout meal and there are plenty of places to dance ‘til late. If you’re cool, you’re probably there.’

7. Rua da Boavista, Lisbon

Rua da Boavista (fifth) is 'a central thoroughfare where new ventures in eating, drinking and shopping sprout up all the time'

Rua da Boavista (fifth) is ‘a central thoroughfare where new ventures in eating, drinking and shopping sprout up all the time’

‘Few neighbourhoods in Lisbon have lived as many lives as Cais do Sodre, a neighbourhood which has grown beyond its nightlife legacy and become a place to shop local, have a family brunch and dinner with friends,’ says Time Out.

‘Right next door to the original Time Out Market, Rua da Boavista is an excellent representation of the neighbourhood’s new chapter – a central thoroughfare where new ventures in eating, drinking and shopping sprout up all the time.’

The guide suggests buying stylish organic cotton from +351, a Portuguese clothing brand known for its minimalist, unisex pieces, and eating at Cav 86, which it describes as ‘an ode to sharing, where seasonality takes the lead’.

6. Jalan Petaling, Kuala Lumpur

One of the oldest streets in Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Petaling (sixth) has been 'experiencing a renaissance' over the past few years

One of the oldest streets in Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Petaling (sixth) has been ‘experiencing a renaissance’ over the past few years

‘Jalan Petaling is one of Kuala Lumpur’s oldest streets, home to the city’s first Chinese settlers in the 19th century,’ says Time Out.

The guide says it has been ‘experiencing a renaissance’ over the past few years. ‘You’ll find Kuala Lumpur’s oldest temples next door to colonial shophouses housing the newest dining and drinking joints,’ it adds.

‘Begin the day with a cuppa and a spot of brunch – or start off at a kopitiam, a local-style coffeehouse – cosy up at a resto-bar, and come nightfall there’s always a party, whether you’re into drum ’n’ bass, jazz or reggae.’

Eateries recommended by the guide include Chocha Foodstore, for its modern Malaysian cuisine, and Botakliquor Bar, for its cocktails ‘spotlighting local botanicals’.

5. Commercial Drive, Vancouver

Vancouver's Commercial Drive remains 'defiantly ungentrified', says Time Out, which ranks the street in fifth place

Vancouver’s Commercial Drive remains ‘defiantly ungentrified’, says Time Out, which ranks the street in fifth place

In a city of rapid change, Commercial Drive remains defiantly ungentrified. McDonald’s and Starbucks tried and failed to stay the course, and the many clothing shops and boutiques are devoted either to vintage or ethically sourced items from far-off places.

So says Time Out, asserting that here everything is ‘unique and one-of-a-kind’ besides ‘a low-flying doughnut chain outlet’ and ‘a generic watering hole’.

It adds: ‘Hip by default, the Drive – as it’s known to locals – also boasts a family-owned bowling alley, a plethora of coffee shops, no fewer than four used book shops and three record stores – and more pizza, and pizza slice, joints than you can shake a pepperoni stick at.’

The guide recommends eating at Lunch Lady for a ‘modern take on Vietnamese street eats’ and visiting The Drive Canteen for ‘local and exotic eats’, including ‘house-made sweets and a large selection of non-alcoholic beer, wine and mixed drinks’.

4. Guatemala Street, Buenos Aires

Guatemala Street, in fourth place, is home to 'one of only two Michelin-starred restaurants' in Buenos Aires, and a spot where 'waiting in line for a table becomes a social occasion'

Guatemala Street, in fourth place, is home to ‘one of only two Michelin-starred restaurants’ in Buenos Aires, and a spot where ‘waiting in line for a table becomes a social occasion’

‘Even waiting in line for a table becomes a social occasion’ on Guatemala Street in the Palermo Viejo district of Buenos Aires, according to Time Out, which notes: ‘Every night, you’ll see people hanging out by the old tram line enjoying glasses of Malbec.’

The street is home to ‘two of the city’s four newly green-starred restaurants’ as well as ‘one of only two Michelin-starred restaurants – Don Julio, aka the world’s best parrilla [grill restaurant]’.

The guide adds: ‘Much more than a casual steakhouse, this incarnation (literally) of meat culture is deeply rooted in local traditions of breeding and grilling; of wine and friends.’

3. East Eleventh, Austin

Must-visit venues on third-place East Eleventh in Austin include Kenny Dorham's Backyard, Franklin Barbeque and the Vintage Bookstore and Wine Bar, the guide says

Must-visit venues on third-place East Eleventh in Austin include Kenny Dorham’s Backyard, Franklin Barbeque and the Vintage Bookstore and Wine Bar, the guide says

East Eleventh, says Time Out, is ‘beloved among locals for encapsulating the city’s spirit like no other street’.

The guide adds: ‘East Eleventh packs every inch with incredible food, culture and music.

‘Must-visit venues include Kenny Dorham’s Backyard, a makeshift venue with a permanent house party vibe, Franklin Barbeque for game-changing brisket and the Vintage Bookstore and Wine Bar.’

2. Hollywood Road, Hong Kong

Hollywood Road in Hong Kong 'is one kilometre (0.6 miles) long and links up some of the city's must-visit destinations'. The street takes the silver medal

Hollywood Road in Hong Kong ‘is one kilometre (0.6 miles) long and links up some of the city’s must-visit destinations’. The street takes the silver medal

‘One of Hong Kong’s oldest streets dating back to 1844, Hollywood Road is one-kilometre long and links up some of the city’s must-visit destinations,’ says Time Out, ‘from the Man Mo Temple and the Mid-Levels Escalator, to the Tai Kwun arts and culture hub and some of the city’s best bars, restaurants and nightlife spots such as Tate Dining Room and Lockdown, a speakeasy hidden behind a toilet bowl display.’

As for its name – Time Out explains that ‘according to legend’, it likely came from the holly bushes that once lined its edges.

1. High Street, Melbourne

Behold the world's coolest street, Melbourne's High Street, which offers 'something for everyone' from 'amazing food and drink' to 'live music venues'

Behold the world’s coolest street, Melbourne’s High Street, which offers ‘something for everyone’ from ‘amazing food and drink’ to ‘live music venues’

Drum roll, please, for the winner, a street that ‘weaves through the ultra-trendy suburbs of Northcote, Thornbury and Preston’ that according to Time Out offers ‘something for everyone… thanks to its unique local businesses’.

The guide continues: ‘Day to night, visitors can find amazing food and drink like authentic Portuguese tarts at Casa Nata, local natural wine at Northside Wines, or lasagne at 1800 Lasagne.

‘Known for its many live music venues, High Street is home to legendary locations like Northcote Social Club and the Croxton Band Room, as well as smaller spots like High Note and Shotkickers.’

Leah Glynn, the Time Out Melbourne Editor, adds: ‘We Melburnians love a rooftop bar, and High Street’s home to a real beauty in Gigi Rooftop. Intimate and exclusive (the teeny space is accessible only via Umberto Espresso Bar), it’s the go-to spot for a spritz at sundown with a side of sweeping suburban views.’

The University of Texas at Austin said Monday it would again require standardized testing for admissions, becoming the latest selective university to reinstate SAT or ACT score requirements that were abolished during the pandemic.

A few years ago there were about 2,000 colleges across the country began to refrain from requiring test scores, at least temporarily, amid concerns that have fueled inequality. But a growing number of these schools have reversed these policies, including Brown, Yale, Dartmouth, MIT, Georgetown and Purdue, with several schools announcing the changes in recent months.

UT Austin, which admits a cross-section of high-achieving Texas students under a plan designed to expand opportunity in the state, cited a slightly different reason than the other schools for returning to testing requirements. Without requiring test scores, officials said, they were stymied in placing admitted students in programs for which they would be best suited and in determining which ones needed additional help. After making test scores optional in recent years, the university will now require applicants to submit SAT or ACT scores starting August 1, with applications for admission until fall 2025.

Jay Hartzell, president of UT, said in an interview that the decision followed an analysis of students who did not submit scores. “We looked at our students and found that in many ways they were not doing so well,” said Dr. Hartzell.

Those who oppose the testing requirements have long said that standardized tests are unfair because many students from affluent families use teachers and coaches to improve their scores. But recent data has raised questions about the claim. In reinstating the testing requirements, some universities have said that making scores optional had the unintended effect of harming prospective students from low-income families.

For example, Brown said that some students from less privileged backgrounds had chosen not to submit scores under the test-optional policy, even when submitting them could actually have increased their chances of admission.

But UT Austin operates under a race-neutral admissions rule adopted more than two decades ago to admit a broader group of students, automatically admitting those in Texas who graduated in the top 6 percent of their high school classes.

Of Texas students admitted to college, 75 percent are considered “automatic admission.” Other Texas students, as well as out-of-state students, are evaluated through a “holistic” admissions process that includes standardized test scores. During the admissions process for last year’s entering class, 42 percent of students chose to submit their test scores.

Miguel Wasielewski, the university’s vice provost, said many of these students have a 4.0 grade point average. “There’s just not a lot of variation,” he said, adding that test scores provide more detailed information that helps determine placement.

At UT Austin, students are asked to rank their choices from three programs of study. Test scores help the university place these students in majors where it believes they can succeed and identify students who need more support, as part of an effort to increase graduation rates. The university’s four-year graduation rate increased from 52 percent in 2013 to 74.5 percent in 2023.

The scores are especially important in determining which students will do well in the university’s more rigorous programs, such as engineering and business, said Dr. Hartzell.

According to the university’s figures for the current freshman class, which admitted a group of 9,217 students last fall, students who submitted test scores were 55 percent less likely to have a first-semester GPA of less than 2.0, the university said.

Those who submitted test scores had higher GPAs — an average of 0.86 points higher — in the fall semester, according to the university, which said the data was controlled for factors such as high school grades and class rank.

Dr. Hartzell said the university consulted with the College Board, which directs the SAT, and found that nearly 90 percent of students applying to UT Austin have taken the SAT or the ACT.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III appeared before a congressional committee on punishment on Thursday and continued a round of mea culpas over his failure to tell his boss last month that he was in the hospital with complications resulting from prostate cancer surgery.

Republican lawmakers had prepared to meet with Mr. Austin ahead of the hearing and ask former Defense Department officials for advice. Even the formal title of the hearing, listed on the House Armed Services Committee website, struck an ominous tone: “A Review of Secretary of Defense Austin’s Unannounced Absence.”

Mr. Austin tried to preempt the expected scolding by apologizing again for keeping his hospitalization at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center a secret.

“We had a glitch in notifications during my January stay at Walter Reed – that is, sharing my location and why I was there,” he told the packed hearing room. “And in December, I should have immediately informed the President, my team, Congress and the American people of my cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment.”

He added: “I take full responsibility.”

On Monday, the Pentagon released an unclassified version of a review of how Defense Department officials, including Mr. Austin, handled his hospitalization. The document offered little or no criticism and did not accuse anyone of not disclosing their illness.

Even before the hearing started, lawmakers were already steaming. Representative Mike D. Rogers, Republican of Alabama and chairman of the Armed Services Committee, used all caps to make his point on social media that “the review of Sec Austin’s actions, conducted by his own subordinates and subject to his approval , NO ONE HELD RESPONSIBLE.”

In his opening statement on Thursday, Mr. Rogers said the chain of command “doesn’t work” when the president doesn’t know who to call.

“It is completely unacceptable that it took three days to inform the President of the United States that the Secretary of Defense was in the hospital and had no control over the Pentagon,” Mr. Rogers said as he opened the hearing. “Wars were raging in Ukraine and Israel, our ships were under fire in the Red Sea and our bases were preparing for attack in Syria and Iraq. But the Commander in Chief did not know that his Secretary of Defense was out of action.”

Mr Rogers added: “Someone needs to be held accountable.”

Across the Capitol, senators from both parties expressed frustration after receiving a classified briefing Tuesday on the Pentagon review.

“I have very strong, serious questions for the Pentagon about the way this apparent cover-up was handled, and I think there should be some public accountability,” Senator Richard Blumenthal, Democrat of Connecticut, told reporters.

Sen. Roger Wicker of Mississippi, the ranking Republican on the Armed Services Committee, said in a statement: “I remain concerned that the department has yet to be held accountable for its failure to comply with federal law and to hold Congress or the White House accountable.” must notify that the secretary is incapacitated.”

Mr Wicker added: “It is clear that many members of the committee left the briefing frustrated by questions left unanswered.”

Mr. Austin underwent an elective medical procedure at Walter Reed on December 22. He did not tell the White House or senior administration officials that he was undergoing surgery for a diagnosis he would later describe as a “gut punch.”

He was released before Christmas but returned on New Year’s Day with complications that kept him in intensive care for two weeks.

Mr. Austin’s chief of staff, Kelly Magsamen, did not inform the White House that her boss was in the hospital until three days later. The extraordinary breach of protocol — Mr. Austin is in charge of the country’s 1.4 million active-duty military at a time when wars in Gaza and Ukraine dominate the U.S. national security landscape — prompted officials across the government, including the Pentagon, confused.

Mr. Austin tried to explain in early February when he told reporters at the Pentagon that “I didn’t handle this properly.”

“I should have told the president about my cancer diagnosis,” he said. “I should have told my team and the American public, and I take full responsibility.”

Mr. Austin also said he never told his staff not to inform the White House about his hospitalization.

The defense minister has long been known for being extremely private and media-shy.

Jimmy, 49, as he peered over Austin’s work, revealed a quiet character of his and was surprised that he didn’t even look like him.

“I heard the director described your character as a psychopath swordmaster mixed with Mick Jagger,” Jimmy said.

Austin noted that Mick, 80, would go on to play Feyd-Rautha in director Alejandro Jodorowsky’s failed attempt to make a Dune movie in the 1970s, “which they called the best movie never made.”

‘It was so surreal. …I was blown away by it,” Austin said.

Austin said Sting came up next and was “so sweet and just warm.”

“He said he still has the codpiece from the original and he’s going to dry clean it so I can wear it,” Austin said.

Jimmy asked how he got into character. Austin said he had never played a villain before and didn’t want to judge him.

“It was a lot of imagining what his childhood was like,” Austin said.

He said he simply imagined what it would be like to grow up with the character Baron Harkonnen as his father.

The cast and crew were mobbed by excited fans and happily took the time to stop and sign posters of the science-fiction epic.

The stars were also seen chatting to the adoring crowd and posing for selfies as they walked down the carpet.

The film takes place immediately after the first ended, when Paul Atreides and his mother Lady Jessica joined forces with Chani and the rest of the desert-dwelling Fremen to get revenge against the evil House Harkonnen, whose members have killed most of his family and friends.

The films are based on Frank Herbert’s 1965 novel of the same name, with first being released to much critical and commercial success in March 2021, and going on to win six Academy Awards.

And many of the critics praised the film’s gargantuan scope, including Rolling Stone‘s David Fear, who said: ‘Villeneuve has outdone himself.

‘More importantly, he’s done justice to the scope and scale and sheer weirdness of a stoner-lit touchstone’s back half without, pun intended, sanding away its edges.’

Variety‘s Peter Debruge admitted that splitting the movie in two halves was a ‘massive gamble’ that somehow paid off.

While the 2021 film set up the world, he added Part Two, ‘graduates from the world-building thrills of the 2021 original to a meaty, all-encompassing narrative.’

Alongside Timothée and Zendaya, the sequel also sees the return of stars Dave Bautista (Beast Rabban), Javier Bardem (Stiglar), Josh Brolin (Gurney Hallack) and Rebecca Ferguson (Lady Jessica).

Part Two also has its fair share of newcomers including Austin, with Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken and Anya Taylor-Joy also joining.

The film was originally scheduled for a late October 2023 release, before being pushed back to November and finally shuffled all the way back to March of this year following the dual writers and actors strikes.

Austin Butler has been busy promoting the highly anticipated film Dune Part 2 around the world.

The end of his promo tour came in London, where he brought 22-year-old girlfriend Kaia Gerber along for the ride.

The couple of almost two and a half years was spotted leaving a romantic dinner Lous Lou's No5 Hertford Street Private Members Club in the Mayfair area of London on Friday evening.

Kaia looked like a doppelgänger of her mother Cindy Crawford – who turns 58 on Tuesday. She wore a long, chocolate brown dress with an asymmetrical hem, black boots and a long black coat.

The Elvis star, 32, looked dapper in a black suit with a tuxedo-inspired jacket and a black shirt.

The outing comes one night after Kaia was Austin's date to the premiere and afterparty for Dune Part 2.

Earlier at the premiere, Austin spoke about Kaia's recent British Vogue cover, calling it “legendary.”

The model appeared on the cover of the magazine alongside her superstar mother, Cindy, and 30 other inspiring women, including Serena Williams, Gigi Hadid, Oprah Winfrey and Dua Lipa.

“It was legendary,” Butler said AND. 'It was amazing. I enjoyed seeing that. What an exciting cover. I loved it.'

The pair first sparked romance rumors in December 2021, before going public with their relationship in March 2022.

Austin also spoke about his new film, explaining, “I was a fan of the book since I was 15. I was a huge fan of the first film, so I feel very lucky to be a part of this. It's really exciting.'

Butler is a newcomer and will play Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen, Baron Harkonnen's young nephew and planned successor as ruler of Arrakis.

He stars in the project alongside A-listers including Zendaya, Timothée Chalamet and Florence Pugh.

Funnily enough, Kaia didn't realize how iconic her mother was until she watched the documentary The Super Models on AppleTV+ last year.

“I was like, 'I didn't know. I knew you were iconic, but…' I didn't understand it when I was younger,” she recalled to her mother after watching the docuseries, which aired in September premiered on Apple TV+. 2023.

“I was impressed with her afterward,” she said Wall Street Journal.

She added that she was impressed by how “smart, focused and ambitious” her mother was even early in her career.

It was doubly impressive because Cindy came “from a very different background” than Kaia, as she had none of her daughter's family wealth and name recognition.

Cindy raised Kaia and her brother Presley Gerber, 24, with her husband, fellow model and co-founder of Casamigos Tequila, Rande Gerber, 61, whom she married in 1998.
